Does GCEH have an in on SAF?
Yes, it's a byproduct of the same refinery and they can work the configuration to produce more of it if needed. Right now SAF is being delivered by vessels into San Francisco and LA to a smaller degree. Those vessels come from Singapore.
This is where it gets tricky for GCEH to have a huge effect in SAF. Will likely have to move by rail from Bakersfield to terminaling sites where they blend the SAF with petroleum jet (either 80/20 or 50/50 mix or similar) before it hops on the pipeline to the airport. The terminals nearest the major airports (LAX, SFO) just don't have a lot of rail capacity but some is being built. It's a long, expensive truck ride from Bakersfield to the major airports.
Also the competition is hottest in SF for SAF - that's where Rodeo and Martinez refineries (P66 and Marathon) are converting to renewable production just like GCEH. GCEH just happens to be way ahead of the timeline.
