HEDGES

We going to have another rounding top following a V recovery on the $SPY? Been on a great run the past two weeks but look how much room there is down to the 10-day SMA and 21-day EMA around 390. The ATR is about 390. Going up, +2 ATR is about 399.50 which is right at the daily upper BB. Volume has been increasing the past three sessions so I'll be watching that tomorrow as well. Might be a good place to start entering hedges.

50-day SMA is around 384.5. What's everyone thinking about for hedges? May/June $SPY puts? Also watching $QQQ, that 324 level has been rejected six times so it could provide a push if it takes it out and pushes tech up.

Is that the midpoint of 5 & 10 ema? Extension of 9ema trend two days out?
If I want to try to grab the 685 as well maybe I'll also look at another condor or a pin at 690, especially if it opens above today's close. Although selling that 700 as part of the fly does give more liquidity if I hold into Friday.

Sw**** stocks has a good Max pain calculator. I also look at price action, open interest, and support / resistance to get an idea. TSLA has done a good job of staying above 685 this week.

It's so volatile that if you want to try to pin, you have to go wide.

great post! I hope we bump near 400 tomorrow, I'll definitely be adding hedges there. Just spitballing, but I might look at April 380P's -- just looked, lots of volume on them ( in comparison to other strikes on the monthlies, 58k, next highest is the 350P at 52k).

Out of the gate things open lower. Early premarket so looking forward to seeing today's open after yesterday's interesting day. Suspect we will see a choppy day today.

It's possible but the 10 yr is almost at 1.75 %, that's not a good thing.

Dang. My portfolio took an 8k hickey yesterday because of NRG. I saw VST tank over the Texas freeze / power failure and was too lazy to research to see if NRG had exposure as well.....lazy and stupid. Not good.
