The odds that this thread has 2 posters that had their third child who was a girl born in successive days has got to be pretty miniscule.

If one of you had had a son I'd be looking for the eventual TexAgs hookup in a couple of decades but in this case I'll just congratulate both of you and remind you to enjoy every minute of it. /guy with 22 and 19 year olds.

My boy was born in October, so they could all be the same class year at Aggieland (oh God...out of state tuition...).

We're due in June (#4). We should have a 529 competition for c/o 2043 babies.

Morning!

I take back all the advice I've given here about having babies (mainly don't get in a hurry, labor takes forever, etc). We waited too long to go to the hospital last night and had our baby girl in the bathroom! Everything is great, the first babies were born in caves, right? Third kid, first girl...i guess she was just so excited about that big goco buy and volume on wwr!

Chart guys... any chance RUN is getting ready to complete an inverse h&s on the monthly?

Wow. If we had waited another 15 or 20 minutes we might have been the same way. I can't imagine.

Second this.

My oldest has 3 times the amount it cost me to go to college and he'll probably need 6-8x by the time he gets there.

Well it could have been everyone here in Colorado filling up in anticipation of Snowmageddon. Some of the gas lines were insane. Luckily I had just filled up on Wednesday

We are flying into Denver Monday. I'm hopeful the roads will be clear by Monday afternoon.

They should be fine except maybe some side roads. I imagine airport will be crazy with how many flights were canceled today and tomorrow.

I'd think so, just keep an eye on road conditions for the pass. My cousin and her family are driving from Houston to Amarillo now and were going to make the rest of the treck to WP on Sunday but waiting til Monday now.

I saved over 100k per kid. One is in college now and another is a HS Jr, and youngest 12.
For A&M right now $100k isn't enough.

My daughter has about 110k and it will be tight.
Youngest I figure will be $150k and we have about 110k now

Higher education is the worst racket out there next to healthcare. Everyone squeezing from all sides.

Ps for anyone sending kids soon, my neighbor does entrance consulting. Was a college basketball coach for 13 years and guarantees greater return than the fee.

For reference, just a parking pass for a garage is anywhere from $500-$600 depending on which one and how new it is. Getting down right criminal at this point

As somebody who has an advanced degree, currently working on another advanced degree, I plan on telling my kids to skip college and I will provide for them to go the vocational route, start an electrical company or plumbing company or home contracting company and just give them $150k to start a business.

I'm in the same boat as you. Thankfully grad school has been funded by my research contract so I get tuition covered and a monthly stipend+health benefits. Still work a second job to make sure I have some extra cash and feel financially more comfortable. If this thing wasn't paid for I wouldn't be here, no way in hell I'd take out loans for this.

I haven't really followed it that much as it seems to be more popular in America than here (they do generally think the American fascination with the monarchy is a bit strange).

On the bright side, it has been a good news cycle break away from constant covid fear mongering. Between that and a recent high profile abduction and murder (whole other crazy British subject there - fringe members of parliament have tossed around a 6pm curfew for men so women can feel safe again walking on the streets at night, wtf lolz), the covid news has about gone away for the first time in a year.

Summary of opinions
  • The monarchy is weird in the 21st century
  • It is taboo to say or insinuate anything negative towards them here
  • Megs is cray cray
  • Harry is a weenie
  • I aspire to have Oprah money

That's nuts. I lived in Moore Hall as a freshman in 2000 and then tried to stay in cheap houses after that. I think most I ever paid for rent was $300month. Pretty sure tuition was around $7k/year.
