I went ahead and took almost net free this afternoon at the close for 60% of my holdings. Didn't want it to dip tomorrow and miss out. Still happy to see it rocket AH.

I still do not understand why tf ASO is so shorted...I know their digital footprint isn't great, but they have to be killing sales right now.

It's ~5% of my portfolio, been great to date, but still nervous

There isn't plenty of vaccine for people that want it where I live. Most people I know want it but haven't heard anything about when it might become available to them. I don't k ow anybody under 60 that isn't healthcare related that has been able to get it yet.

Still learning but it looks to be like it just bounced off an ~$23.50 model T over the last three months.

Can't say more than that, keep trying to convince myself to buy some, maybe others have more thoughts?

I'm not an expert but do have 100 shares and I love academy. If it had groceries it would be the end all be all store!. Here's my opinion...
It's shorted bc it's retail. Not only that it's niche retail. Reason family sold to PE was bc they didn't have capital to expand brick and mortar. PE has expanded a good bit with plans for more. Their website has expanded their offerings but it still sucks.
I still see lots of growth long term. Wall street sees short opportunity to make money and steer it how they want. Plus the analysts covering it are all yankee sissies in New York who have no idea how to fish, hunt, camp, or anything outdoors. And if a few of them do by chance they've likely never been to one as they don't have them up there
I'm waiting for earnings and will be interesting to see if they destroy it like their first earnings did and then subsequent reaction.

I don't know. Academy is like bulk Walmart to me. No novelty just a larger selection of generic stuff. All the brands you would expect nothing niche.

Academy should scrap their entire retail biz and set up Academy Ammo. Manufacturer primers and anything else in short supply.

Bass pro shops offers a wider array of apparel, foot wear, camping, hunting. Similar fishing. Expanded boating. Sun and ski better niche outdoor. REI is even more niche. Academy doesn't do any one thing well. I always leave there a bit disappointed.

Only thing I can think is they are being propped up by their firearm and ammo sales. Other divisions of the company aren't performing as well.

Sorry, to go deeper on my previous post, if we can hold 392 once we break it, I'll take out SPY 400 calls for 3/19.

Ok, you may be right. Everyone I associate with, including my mom that's over 70, has refused it so I thought there was plenty. I still think today's rally was more stimulus than vaccine though.

How is GME still shorted? I don't understand that one honestly. I know they can only unload so many shares but man, that thing won't die.

Is there info out there actually saying that? Every time I go in (both the 59&kirby & I10 bunker hill & westhiemer) pretty much all the hunting/shooting/fishing/boating/kayaking is cleaned out. Also a buyer I know for clothes keeps saying they have seen a very noticeable increase in sales with the last stimulus checks going out
The only other thing I could think of for the short interest levels is the lockup period coming to an end but I haven't been able to find anything concrete about when that is

100% I have 3 GTD for Friday orders in on SQQQ SPXU and VXX at about 10-20% below current values.

May adjust those numbers some as the week plays out.

3 more 6% days is all I need to be back to where I was February 9th.

Bass pro also appeals to more folks in certain categories by offering broad items. Think cold fishing like ice fishing. Academy doesn't do that. Hence my use of more niche. REI is certainly super niche.
Academy prices are lower than bass pro as well for the same items. Bass pro also doesn't do fitness, golf, baseball, football and kid type sports.
So IMO they are a decent bit different. But bass pro has better website
