Up 6.97% today. My account is really starting to grow thanks to this thread. At this rate, 2 years of trading (beginning March 2020) will surpass 15 years of savings in my 401K. I'm not kidding. I've been very aggressive, however, and have started to hedge like crazy.

Man, my nut-sack ain't big enough to throw down $100K on a gamble pharma stock. Not yet anyway.

I did end up with a really, really nice return on selling some at $100 and $125 (if it hits $125) today. Bought in under $17, but close to $17.

Bigger question: whatcha got for next week?
$100K means different things to different people. The real question if will you put down 15% of your account value on a given pick.

Seems to be working out. Just wait till I figure out options!

SAVA would be stupid if they didn't have an offering in the works. Everyone should be expecting one at anytime.

Absolutely. If it is a solid pick, why not. No different than having 75% of my portfolio in AAPL, FANG, VLO, AMZN, etc. only a slightly more risky downside (just put in an exit strategy to save me from a zero result!).

But, you didn't answer what was next week's pick. I guess you have until Sunday night to answer that one though!

Thanks again!

Yes, if I have strong conviction.

98% of the time, no. I typically won't enter a play with more than 5% of my portfolio.

Right now, the greater than 5% threshold is only on WWR and BFT.

XL is right at 5%.

All of it shares. My first options plays expire Friday.

I'm curious if anyone has a set goal per day/per week on gains?

I talk to many who "just want to grow my account" with no plan.

For me, it's 2% a week. Yeah, I've had some barn burners over the last 60 days that have skewed that to the upside, but 2% a week from now until forever and my kids won't have anything to worry about except an overreaching Govt.

I'm always curious about folks thoughts on this as well. I decided 2.5% per month would roughly give me 30% annually (not including compounding effect) and a 30%/year doubles your money roughly every 2.5 years. That felt like an excellent return goal but over the last 3 months I've had some real barn burners too and I've done 53% 15% and 25% returns.

I like 2-3% per day on my trading acct. I only trade with 7% of my liquid money. The rest are in etf's and mutual funds managed by others. I will probably move more over to where I manage it or maybe hopfully get to use it I. A new up and coming hedge fund....

Started trading in 2008, but cooled off a lot when we started having babies in 2012-2015. Really picked it up strong again in H2 2018.

2008-2011 was strong. I'd have to go pull tax records, but those were ~20% years. However, I didn't have a plan back then for what I wanted to accomplish.

When the kids came along and I got back into this on a daily basis, I laid out a plan for what I wanted when they were 18 and my wife and I were 48-50. I'm currently 38.

Since 2018, I've surpassed my goal on average, thanks to an unprecedented bull market. I'm no smarter than most of you, but I plan well and largely stick to it unless I see a wide opening begging me to jump in.

My plan was to retire by 48, but if I keep doing 2019/2020 type years, it may be before, well before.

You can do 2% a week if you hedge wisely. A lot of the fintwit crowd doesn't know the meaning of that and they play one-sided 90% of the time.

Due to COVID and other odd circumstances, my regular consulting business has not flourished as it had the last 10 years.
I turned 49 last month and I just figured screw it, I would take a little chunk of cash and try and swing trade for income (instead of day trade). a few weeks in and its been decent. goal is 5% per week on compounded swings.

SO far so good. But I am trying learn as much as possible. As someone else commented to me before, definitely feeling the fire hose. Trying to run a portfolio 6-10 deep max so I can track them easily and rotate 1-2 times weekly, although a few like CLOV and XL are being a little stubborn, but they chart well.

Learning never stops. and I cant wait to partake in OAs seminar.

OA's Seminar paying off already!

WEI - Hit a pretty textbook Model T to close the day. 1 min candles

Low: Bounced off the 200 SMA at 1.535

High: Topped out at 1.76 matching with previous resistance levels

Model T hit right at 1.65 with a flash down to 1.63 which also coincided with the 21 SMA and then closed at 1.68 sandwiched between the 8 and 21 SMA

My 2% a week might include 500 trades. Just a FYI for those of you picking 3-5 trades a week.

I also trade a lot of what I know. VIX, SPY, QQQ, FX, metals.... we don't really get into the zone trading and currencies/metals in this thread.

This is what I'm very interested in learning.

I want to get some insight on how to trade through a major downturn and then the following bear market.
