I think you have to be at their Gold level for margin.

Robinhood is such an ironic name for that company now haha.

They didn't quite die, but for sure killed their valuation with all the people leaving, including myself. I applauded their ease of use and they did a great job of teaching new investors and getting them set up on their road to financial freedom! Wow, a champion of the people! However, that's all on the surface.

I started with them since they were the only free service. After being down for days during the pandemic, terrible executions, liquidating positions at set times to be scalped by algos, I was done. A damn front running scheme selling all the data. I started using my other broker but kept a small amount of long term holds there. I hope people learn from this and move to other brokerages, even though they all did the same thing today. Robinhood is the only "antiestablishment" that publicly sold out today.

I sold February puts of CLOV for $0.90 at $12.50. Wouldn't mind owning the stock at that level and would then make covered calls.

Just turn off the margin. They can't force you to have a margin account. They kept everyone to the PDT rule regardless of cash or margin account though from what I have heard.

That's what I'm saying, you can't turn it off. That's why you can buy whatever you want the second you make a deposit, they're sneakily letting you do it on margin

I've never had rh gold, and i have (unsuccessfully) asked to change to a cash account, but i have always been able to utilize funds immediately. Maybe I'm mistaken and that's just unsettled funds rather than margin but i always assumed they tricked you into having margin even if you had to have gold to "invest on margin"
