you buy 100 shares for $15.50 each. You sell a $9 Feb call for $10. That lowers your basis to $5.50. It is quite possible AMC is back to $5.50 or lower by Feb 19.

And even thinking about it in correct terms now, I'm happy with the deal. Again, I didn't jump in deep at all.

I think if it happens to drop below 5.50, there's a dang good chance that I can go free or nearly free by writing more calls on the way down.

TD Update:

They tried to force a covered call on EXPR on their end - rejected. He was surprised it was rejected after telling me they are limiting trades on this ticker. The guy I spoke to had to go talk to his manager who confirmed they were not allowing the covered call until their (TD) margin risk improved. Awesome.

I expressed my views on why I am being forced to "assist" them with that by locking me out of certain trades because some of their clients can't manage their risk.

Going to open an IBKR account.

The problem is how can you ever feel confident in their platform as a trader? If you're sitting there with GME stock that you bought and now can't sell it until they deem it's OK?

It's not clear exactly what the restrictions are, probably just on options or margin trading them.

Anyone looking to get into a rising company early with possible big potential in the future, Natural Shrimp (SHMP) . Company based out of La Coste Texas. They have made some resent mergers and have been expanding. Traded over the counter on TD but think they have plans to make it onto NYSE. Very interesting venture. I got a kick out of reading on their business. Figured I would throw a little of my EXPR profit in it for the long haul.
