Whats up with GameStop? Buddy of mine predicted it to go up this week just bc he said that people we're going crazy talking about it lol. And Jim Cramer lol. But it is up big premarket.

Been on a run for a few weeks. Not sure why exactly bc their business model is going to fade into bolivian but they are probably running it into Q4 earnings if I had to guess. Video games were very popular this season.

Over 100% of the shares were short. Was bound to happen. But also new BoD with experience in leading organizational transitions, so hope for business pivot to take advantage of online sales somehow.

Thanks. Why would someone short a stock, as opposed to just buying puts? What's the advantage to a short over buying puts?

So I have never bought or sold a put.

If I buy $5 Feb19 puts on MBIO - I then have the option to sell them at $5 on that date right? Does it get auto-exercised if below $5? I see the ask a 1.1 right now. What are the pros/cons?

If below $5, you have to buy 100 @5.00.
If you're buying the put you're selling the shares at 5.00 if below 5 at expiration. (you have the right to sell @ 5)

Selling the put, you're buying the shares at 5.
