was just talking to a coworker.....AAPL should go after WKHS to build the cars. They have infrastructure, manufacturing, and they're in the USA.
Are you net free? I don't see the harm in just continuing to hold them if so.AgEng06 said:Bringing this back up now that the day's craziness has died down. Any advice would be appreciated!AgEng06 said:
Looking for advice on MGNI... I know OA said earlier that he was selling $25 calls against half of his shares. I only have 100 shares left, so I'm wondering how to handle the rest of them. Should I go ahead and sell at a predetermined point, or try to sell some calls, or ???
I think this might work out alright for me tomorrowCavitationAG said:
Entered March $150C for PTON at 16.05. Looks like a good chart to forming a cup and handle if you go back to mid October levels. Nice double bottom today.
Over $12 now.yukmonkey said:

I am not saying this is the right approach but one I have taken is if I have hit the higher end of my target and the upside is on a percentage basis is a lot less than a potential new accumulation trade, I will take the majority of profits and roll into the next play leaving some shares 'planted' as OA says.Rice and Fries said:Are you net free? Let me put it this way, I am net free and not planning on selling out of my shares anytime soon. I may sell some to buy some WWR though.
I sold all but a rather small net free position. This is all bank driven madness.Orlando Ayala Cant Read said:Over $12 now.yukmonkey said:

Cannot believe after putting so much work into accumulating this at $1.70-.1.80 I dumped my last bit in the 6s.

I'd love to be able to take advantage of the recent spike to go net free, but all my shares are covered by March $9/$10/$15 CCs. Could definitely be in worse shape, but lesson learned to not sell CCs against 100%oldarmy1 said:I sold all but a rather small net free position. For me I am also looking at what is the next play I can achieve a potential high return once again.
In a similar vein, I reluctantly let some of my MARA $9 calls execute, at 30 cents in the money last Friday (for a decent net loss on the options purchase). Wrote $15 January covered calls on half the resulting shares this morning. We'll see how this ends up...wanderer said:I'd love to be able to take advantage of the recent spike to go net free, but all my shares are covered by March $9/$10/$15 CCs. Unless you think it breaks $15 and you get paid on those premiums plus $15 for the stock you're almost always better off selling the stock and buying back the covered call when its run up. Stock value outpaces out of the money strikes to make that the best move on volatile stocks that can drop like a rock as fast as they sky.wanderer said:I'd love to be able to take advantage of the recent spike to go net free, but all my shares are covered by March $9/$10/$15 CCs. Ok I never do this, and its not really my style but after honestly feeling really shi**y about the Ags yesterday not getting in I have to post this to feel good even if I plan to take the post down in a few mins. And I'm pretty sure a lot of these gains will disappear in the next day or two but here it is anyway. Also, I feel like it kinda demonstrates if you DD something well, and believe in it, it can pay off.
Why take it down? You made a great trade and we are all toasting your success. Don't take it down.Orlando Ayala Cant Read said:

Huge congrats to you! IMO no need to take it down and hopefully it is motivating to everyone that gets a chance to read it. Keep rolling brother!Orlando Ayala Cant Read said:

hard to argue with that, just a painful pill to swallow to sell at an effective price of ~$9 ($12 minus ~$3 to buy a March $15 call back). I realize saying that sounds a bit greedy.oldarmy1 said:Unless you think it breaks $15 and you get paid on those premiums plus $15 for the stock you're almost always better off selling the stock and buying back the covered call when its run up. This one I mis-diagnosed completely. Sold 30k shares at $6 and have 5k net free shares left. Bought the $5 Put and it jumped on the initial pullback and I did nothing and now that Put is a total loss.Orlando Ayala Cant Read said:oldarmy1 said:Unless you think it breaks $15 and you get paid on those premiums plus $15 for the stock you're almost always better off selling the stock and buying back the covered call when its run up. OA you have probably already answered this but do you have simple puts against MARA rn?
