What are you thinking drives the volatility?

We are at +2 ATR on the daily /ES, we have not reverted to the mean in 22 trading periods, daily volume is declining, we are overbought in RSI, and we have gained almost 500 points in a month without any type of meaningful pullback. I'm not going all in on SPX 4000 calls at this level.

$AMD close 94+ today and I'm upping my target for the 12/18 87.5's that I'm STILL fully holding from 2.50. 15+ let's gooooo... the kids want to go to Disneyland Paris next year.

agree for sure on the day to day stuff... I'm talking about week to week, month to month into next year...

gun to head next week, probably some sideways action to consolidate the recent move... if not it's a meltup that ends in a big sell off back around here. Who the heck knows though... I quit trying to be right and just watch what's on the screen...

ROKU likes to drop news on Monday mornings before the open. There are 3 Mondays left before Christmas. Some new hit movie will debut on HBO Max on Christmas, and they cannot let that happen without it being available on the arms dealer. They're trying to get a better deal but ROKU holds all the cards.

I'm glad it worked out for you as it has worked out for me as well. I bought a lot around 45, and then add 50% more shares late July / early August about 154. I'm still holding all of it. I think it goes 350 now with an announcement. From past moves on news like this it usually goes 15-20%. Be careful with what I post though and note sig Drunk squirrels find some nuts sometimes!

I didn't post much at all in April because I was in a mess (just moved overseas, empty house because all our shipments got stuck for months, full draconian lockdown, 2 young kids we were trying to home school while both working full time in new jobs... yea I digress but ROKU was the last thing on my mind in April!).

I'm pretty sure you're talking about June when it was back over 100. Top of page 1768 is my weekly log chart since IPO that I check every week. Before and after below. I also posted some similar stuff on the longer term thread page 1.

Long story short, it worked out. It happens. More often it doesn't. It's not rocket science. It's just fundamentals and technicals and some luck... let your winners be big and your losers be small.

I am not selling them...yet...but you can sell covered calls on the Jan 10c for about $0.65. Cost basis would be under $5.50 and if you get exercised getting $10.65 on $6.00 in 40 days I am thinking that would be ok. Current share price $6.11.

You can sell the $7.5 for $1.10ish.

SPX up almost 500 points in a month is nuts. All indicators are showing we're at or near a short term peak.

I am still holding in my taxable account, except if it went for a loss......
