SPAQ is down so much that my covered calls have been blown by and I'm now red. It was a "well as long as it doesn't drop 30%" scenario.

When the market is acting like it has been lately, one Jedi mind trick I play on myself is to go read the lyrics to TLC's Waterfalls and think of the song being about me and the stock market. Sounds crazy I know, but it damn sure works for me personally.

I am totally on the sideline (aside from what I own already, not buying not selling) , and this time I plan on staying disciplined with that plan and not buying. I'm totally a buy the fear kinda guy but I already went in pretty heavy last couple of weeks and I need to leave some cash laying around in case things really get bad.

Agree and I give OA and really the whole thread credit. When I pick a stock I PICK A STOCK.

Over my 6 year investing career, I have gone all in on Phillips 66, Apple, Amazon, Facebook, and Roku. Basically one stock each year I rotate the whole portfolio to. Very risky and most would not advise that. I justify it by doing a lot of research and now that I have discovered covered calls, I know that I can make 12%+ per year just on the calls. That beats the long term market return. I only do that in my rollover IRA from my previous company. That's my main trading account these days because of tax free gains.

New company I don't even look at the 401k anymore so I have no chance of screwing that one up. I just front load it each year and let it do it's thing.

I'm a fanboy of Roku as well now. I give you credit for having a long term view because I almost bailed after their first earnings call this year for no reason then I saw your charting and the info you shared. If I got out, that would have been my biggest loss of my career. I also only talk about Roku and Amazon because that's where every dollar I have is lol.

I will when the talking heads start saying we are nearing or at a correction. Will buy when we get to 10% down off recent highs.

Strategically for me yes. Primarily in positions I already own while watching a few others for opportunities. I am also cashing out positive on ones I am not confident on direction.

Would it make since to do the following?
Ive got a SPY 9/25 327P I bought earlier in the week on OAs recommendation and it is up around 3X right now.
Would it make since to sell it now and buy a 315P for Oct 2nd as a way to roll out the hedge and take some capital off the board but still be covered for any additional fall?

I had bought a huge long position in SPXU at $8. I just sold covered calls for 10/02 at a $10 strike. I will try to buy back at 50%. I am OK with being exercised.

Seems as of late, as TSLA goes, the market goes. If anyone can lead the way it's TSLA. Opened lower, reclaimed yesterdays low, that's a reversal indicator. I'm on the 380C hoping for some push through.
