Anyone else in on Ranger's WPM Oct 16 $60 calls?

With the market pullback, I was able to get $55C for cheap so I went with that option over the $60s. Planning to let them run a bit longer, but curious if anyone else is letting them run vs. taking profits on half.

That XBox set up, with two versions both with monthly payable plans, and a cloud based strategy, is a straight up Sony PlayStation killer. It's over.

Xbox games are going to be widely, if not wholely, available on pc, which is stealing market share from consoles. Playstation still has a very loyal base, and a myriad of exclusives.

Very few will buy a PC+Xbox because there will be no added benefit. Plenty of people will buy PC+Playstation.

The big push around the cheaper unit, is that it is more affordable to have another area to play games at in your house. With Microsoft gamepass, its a really good option.

Oh yeah, it's definitely a good move. It's just not a death knell to PS. They both need to continue to innovate to stay competitive.

So far, this is nearly identical to what happened 3 months ago. Did we retest a support level back then before rocketing higher?

Watching UVXY, the charts are virtually the same. If that plays out, volatility will stay around current level a few days and then taper away.

Can someone explain why these gaming companies haven't completely partnered with the Roku and Amazon Fire TV and all the smart TV's go completely get rid of the physical console? It seems like it would cut expenses down in a big way where people only have to purchase the controller. It would be a nice partnership for all involved...

If you want to go synthetically long on TSLA, you can sell put spreads, 100pts out of the money for about 20% of the width. That's lovely.

The hardware is a huge barrier. Amazon fire and roku hardware can stream 4k from the net, but processing that is an oceans leap away.

Most smart tv apps you can put on your console, but not vise versa for that reason.

Ok thank you for explaining. I wondered that as soon as I saw Peleton on the Roku app. I know it is in a way different, but seemed like it had some similarities. That would be huge for all of the involved parties. Very huge.

Stadia has tried that but it hasn't caught on. Especially the online gaming (think Call of Duty) where you're relying on the internet/cloud to make use of your inputs in the controller. Too much lag. Once they can get the hardware to process it fast enough and eliminate that lag they'll be on to something.

Happy to help.

Consoles/gaming will always want to be on the cutting edge of hardware and value, so as long as that is true, the hardware won't be cheap. There's some mobile games and lower end graphics solutions that are gaining some traction, but the major money makers are AAA level graphics. That requires expensive consoles to run.

Stadia tried, but the most productive one was STEAM. But that's on PC. Now that consoles are bridging the internet gap between consoles/Pc's and everyone playing together has changed things. PC's don't have the auto aim features that consoles have also and a lot of PC players now use controllers.

The Halo folks are still really loyal to Xbox as well as The Last of Us and story tellers of PlayStation are really loyal. I don't think there will be a huge separation in who is doing better/more powerful, but I do think portability will be a big deal now

Can you expand? Everything I know is the exact opposite. Way easier to get auto aim on PC, and a plethora of other mods that somehow get through anti cheat. Also keyboard and mouse are a huge upgrade over controllers for most games. I've never heard of PC players using controllers for anything other than casual games, where otherwise the support is poor.

When I bought the most recent Call of Duty, it was an over 100GB download and took up almost half the storage on my console. That is another issue is the storage capacity. New models are expected to be 500GB or 1TB standard I believe.

RAM and SSDs are pretty cheap nowadays, but if you're expecting a big spike, you can invest in rare earth mining companies or the like. When SSDs and RAM were super expensive, it was material cost that really spiked and drove the price up.

EDIT TO ADD:
Semis and copper mining seem to be a big play here as well.

I invested in SQM over 5 years ago as a lithium play, and it has been a performance laggard. Is there a rare earth or other battery component company that looks like a good investment to take advantage of the EV boom? I feel like I should have more in play in this sector.
