I'm seeing more like 15 days. Regardless, the run up has been crazy.

I just wonder how much longer this is going to last. Prior to 2016 I was a mutual fund guy. Keep it simple, let someone else do it. I noticed the bull run and started learning individual stock investing.. great decision because its blowing everything else out of the water.

TTOO predictably gave up all of those gains. Guess the play was always to capture decay, but the stock is frustrating

I had a sell at 1.75 to just call it a day on TTOO and it got to 1.73, bad management on that one for me

That's about when I started buying individual stocks after being a MF guy for 8-10 years. Got tired of watching my FAMRX get its token 8% a year.

Almost every position I got into in 2016 and 2017 is multiple 100% gain today.

AMZN 300%+, NFLX 500%+, COST 125%, AAPL 420%. Too bad I only put $40k into them (combined)
Bought some more positions in 2018, FB up 65%, GOOG up 60% and WMT up 70%. Only another $20k.


Just blows mutual funds out of the water.

Although I bought into FSMEX in 2016 and FSELX in 2017 and they are both up 100%. FSELX has a crazy dividend though. I bought in $5k in oct 2017, by dec 2018 I had $2700 in dividends

My long positions aside from metals, uvxy and other hedge type things are all very short in duration and defined risk

I'm sure plenty of people have noticed but for anyone that is looking for something short term and less risky with some slightly steady positive return, VIX has a started a new trend this last week. It's up 12.5% for the week and easy to see in trend for last month. Wasn't sure were to move a sum of money made off some flys so I bought some shares Friday and Monday and already up 6%.

TZROP spiked AGAIN today. Any of you in on this? I keep not buying thinking it's at its temporary ceiling and then it goes up again the next day.

Anyone with any thoughts or PT?

We are too extended by almost every metric. I'm not sure what the catalyst will be but when it comes, it should be vicious.

The nasdaq can't continue going up 1000 month and the SPX 100+ a month like they every month since March.

I'm looking for any clever way to own and hold TSLA puts, where I don't overburden my trading account with this hedge, but where I have a few in play when the TSLA bubble pops. After tonight, I might have to add ZM to my put wish list.

Lately I've been buying TSLA put spreads, and when the sale side is in the green, I buy it back and use the gain as a discount on the put premiums I paid for the buy side. I haven't made any money with this strategy, but I have largely broken even, so I guess it's working since the goal is to have a free-roll in the $TSLA collapse lottery.

I have a half position.

I don't know what to say other than what we are seeing is utter f'ing insanity.

And Bezos went from 100 to 200B. So Bezos widened his gap over that time frame.

As much as I would love for Amazon to split, Bezos has been on record saying he won't split it ever again. Time will tell.

These have been shorter term plays over the last couple of weeks, which take advantage of TSLA's volatility changing by as much as $100 per share in a single day like last week before the split.

Buy the put spread at an area that you think is close to the center chanel of the price action for the next few days. TSLA stock price goes up, the put you sold is in the green (long is in the red) and you buy it back for a small gain. Now your simply holding the long put, which is equal to the price you paid for it less any gain you recouped buying back the put you sold. At this point it acts like any other long put, if the price goes up, you will lose, but with TSLA's volatility I've had no trouble finding times when the long side is also in the green or at least close enough that any long side losses are trivial and worth my time and chance to hold the option for as long as possible hoping the big crash occurs.

Not a perfect strategy and it's interesting trying to explain it to someone else, as I can see it does very little to reduce risk of taking a bearish postion and TSLA going straigtht up which would result in losses.

Always learning, so if someone has an idea to improve upon this strategy, I'm curious and interested. Ragoo - thanks for the question - you may helped me realize that breaking even with this strategy has been more luck then skill.
