Sorry bud. It's actually heading into my window of profit.
Eh I'll live, it was a trivial part of the portfolio. Figured V would beat estimates, but didn't properly account for stonks only drop when estimates are beat these days.

What stocks are most important as suppliers for all of the Bitcoin miners? Think there is any angle on the recent price increase, and some believe to be future price increase, there? Bitcoin rewards recently halved, so I expect the need for computing power will continue to increase.

The biggest news was ASP's were higher than previous year. AND their margins are up 3%..

And then the guidance... HUGE..
For the third quarter of 2020, AMD expects revenue to be approximately $2.55 billion, plus or minus $100 million, an increase of approximately 42 percent year-over-year and 32 percent sequentially. The year-over-year and sequential increases are expected to be primarily driven by Ryzen and EPYC processor sales and next generation semi-custom products.

I may be wrong but I don't think it is that surprising. When I think of Ebay I think of needing to find something very specific that can't be had anywhere else. If I want something new, why wouldn't I just use Amazon? Also, I would bet if you polled 100 people, 90%+ would say they feel more confident in the security behind an Amazon purchase over Ebay.

This.

Because you can find most things cheaper on Ebay.

And even that's made it no longer worth it. I only use eBay if it's the only available seller. Twice I've been screwed by their abysmal customer service, and it cost me. I bought a pair of nikes that were fake, and they sided with the seller in the dispute bc I hadn't changed a default drop down from "wrong size" to "fraud". So despite human interaction and judgement, they didn't give af.

That's cost me more than I ever saved by them being cheaper.

I'll tack on that I've been an Ebay customer for 20 years (90% buy / 10% sell). I love Amazon, but I try to spread the wealth a bit to Ebay and others so there is some semblance of competition. Three of my last six Ebay purchases have been complete scams. Bought a Roomba, guy mails an empty box to some nail salon with my same zip code and shows the "proof" to Ebay claiming the item was delivered. I thought well (this will be easy) I can show that the item was delivered to the wrong address and weighed less than 12 ounces, so clearly it was a scam and not a Roomba. Nope, Ebay forces me to get some certified letter from the post master where I live and jump through a few more hoops to get my money back. Then the scam artist sends Ebay another email with the same bogus tracking data, and after initially accepting my dispute and agreeing to refund me the money, we get to do the same dance over again for the 2nd time before I finally got a refund.

Huge headache dealing with Ebay and they have let the fraud issues get completely out of hand. As you mentioned, I use Ebay as little as possible now days, and really only for items that are antique or out of production parts that I can't find anywhere else.

Ebay is the worst. So many scammers and legitimate users frequently get shafted (as buyers or as sellers). I can't imagine ever using the site again, I don't even look at ebay if I can't find something elsewhere.

I never argued eBay was better than Amazon. I've had an eBay account for 20 years and I think used it twice.

But I assumed there'd be a ton of unemployed people at home needing cash, and eBay would be one place to sell it. I use Facebook marketplace for that.

Now that I think about it they own stubhub , too, and that had to cost them a ton.

Was back in November, but yeah... The SH/Viagogo story probably deserves it's own book... Guy co-creates Stubhub, gets forced out and says "eff it" and goes and creates Viagogo for the UK market into a behemoth.

Come back with a "how ya like me now?" to buy his company back in a monster deal. And shortly thereafter it's value is practically cut in half.

Ok in the interest of not wanting fellow Ags losing money and for those interested in the experiment of tracking @RadioSilentPlay's Twitter Picks. I'll post updates every few days on just these recent picks of his and we can see how it goes. Keep in mind dude deals HEAVILY in pennies and these numbers could very well reverse in a day or two but here they are anyway:

Picked the Week of July 20-24

NOVN: -12%
MLND: - 24%
NTEC: -19%
MARA: +29% ( i think this is a bit of an outlier as there was buzz in other places too)
AEPT: +3%
CPHI: -8%
NAKD: SAME
TAT: -8%
KTOV: -5%
USO: SAME
CHEK; +5%
PASO: --9%
RJDG: SAME
RGLS: +3%
SNSS: SAME
SWRM: -10%
DMAN: SAME

Amd just hit a double digit server share market share goal. There was a Jpmorgan survey that said 60% of CIOs are thinking about adopting EPYC. Apparently have 1.2 Billion in inventory. Margins increased 5%YoY

Looks like They took on 200 million in debt to increase orders at TSMC, but they also increased cash holding. Really good call

Reading up some stuff today in regards to gaining large server production, its def a cascading type thing. Many of the big players are waiting to see if AMD can prove consistent deliveries and consistent top tier products.

It will surely be interesting to see how they gain momentum considering it took them 4 years to get to 10%+... It should be much much faster from my understanding if they continue to execute.

SNSS is probably in the minus category now, offering AH, but that may actually strengthen the buyout theory. A company buys in a substantial stake, then proposes to buy, then a vote (which I'm sure would be in favor, as the big instutions would get a nice return for their investment).

all speculation though!

I think MARA is kinda of dependent now on Bitcoin breaking hard resistance at 11,500. If it did, a lot of money to be made but IMO don't believe there is enough support to break 11,500 but who knows.

Just went in and purchased some more . But I'm just an ordinary guy with no extraordinary forecasting powers.

FWIW Stocktwits guys seems to think this thing can only really go up from where it is. But make sure you have plenty of grains of salt on hand before going over there. If you ask some of them, that stock will be $100 by next week.
I bought 10k shares yesterday to get a feel for it and will add...Thanks!
