Stock went up from $90 to over $140 since January. $50/share profit and people won't take $1.41/share for protection. I'll never understand most people.
And since the losses are already in on the initial big drop. You could wait to see that first stable area and trade against your Puts. I do that all the time. In this instance XLNX drops to $123 sideways trend. Buy shares on first volume signal above $124.50 that occurred and now you're at $126.15. Trade that a pure stop loss so your Puts are the regulator tomorrow and there ya go!
