ingests the full current option chain <90 DTE for all the underlyings from IBKR (most of the time, it wasn't able to connect today - that's why it says "check chain" instead of giving me the date and strike price to look for so I'll just figure it out manually for today), and gives me all the pertinent info and recommended action.

Is IB allowing you to pull the full option chain data? Does it include the Greeks? That's a lot of data, especially if it's real-time. Are they charging you for the data pull?

eta: fwiw, what you have built is not much different than what institutions/hedge funds build.

IBKR is extremely automation- and API-friendly, and it only pulls the chain when I ask it to (maybe once per day on average). Cost is basically zero. That's why I chose them as the source.

If this goes well for a quarter or two I will be tempted to move all these accounts to IBKR and fully automate the whole thing where Claude is actually executing the trades it recommends and I'm hands-off. But I'm also working on a session flow trading idea that monitors London > Asia > US trends to trade the first few hours of the US market and backtesting is very encouraging so far. So I might just stick a pile of cash on IBKR for that to keep it separate from rolling calls if I decide to act on it. We'll see, need way more backtesting and paper trading on that idea before I go down that path.

Tempted to finally cash out of POWL.

Just sold half.

I have now officially made well over 6 figures on POWL. I want to buy some company merch at this point.

That's great! I've made two trading apps with Claude as well. My first one Emails me when to sell calls/puts based on an highly curated strategy for a few tickers and emails me recommendations to close those positions.

My second one is 100% automated. It enters trades and closes them. I get emails from it when it makes a trade.

I also had it build me a back test app to test my strategies which helped me refine them. I am having to pay for real time option data API.

I had a portfolio section on my app that tracks my return per ticker etc. one of the things that prompted me to build it was wanting to keep track of my option trading performance per position/ticker and keep track of my premium returns apart from my general cash position.

Scooped some POET at 6.64 on 4/30. Felt like sentiment was overly negative, and kept seeing the same comments over and over, almost like it was organized, so bought into it. Trying to decide if I want to trim or just let it all ride as a lotto ticket.

I will be selling AMD at some point before earnings. Expectations are so high and the street is looking for specific high numbers in certain areas that I just don't think they can nail all of it. Plus the run up it has had over the last month, I think it will sell of. If it does, I'll buy the dip, and if it doesn't, I will still be happy with the profit I will have

Is there some kind of data center ETF?

This is going to be bigtime over the next decade.

The fund's market capitalization is around $861 million, with a P/E multiple of approximately 42.92. Robinhood

The nuclear energy sector is seen as increasingly important to support the rapidly growing energy demands tied to artificial intelligence infrastructure spending

Probably selling mine or atleast a good bit based on action on the last 10 times the stock reacted after earnings

Going to start buying a small position into NKE and RBLX. They've been destroyed and I'm going to put some sit and wait money into them. Still lots of bullish analysts on them both.

This has been awesome and helpful reading and learning about this from yall.

I greatly appreciate those that are willing to share so much!

I have a question for those of you who are older and have been doing this a long time.

If you were in your 40s and had a somewhat significant amount of money available to invest (leaving about 15-20% in HYSA) I'm curious how would you approach it knowing what you know now? What ETFs would you invest and at what percentages? I don't mean for specifics, I'm just trying to get a rough idea. Or be as specific as you'd like, I guess.

I like VOO and FZILX for starters.

I am younger than you and not nearly as skilled of a trader as some on here, but DTCR has been incredible for me over the past 4 months or so. I am really bullish on the Data Center market in the short term (1-5 years). In the long term I dont know if it will come to a screeching halt or a more progressive one, but I know it will slow down compared to where it is now, and that there is a lot of money to be made in that sector right now.

Electrical generation is to the 2020's as to what Oil was to the 1960's.

Does the expense ratio at 0.5% have any real affect on that decision? It seems very small.

If ACHR can close above 6.00 by the end of the week, it has a chance to really run. They report earnings May 11.

I am willing to concede $50 for every $10,000 invested in an actively managed global ETF.

Not sure if that was your question or not, but in short, no I didn't really put a ton of thought into the expense ratio. Probably should have in hindsight, but we are here now and it is doing well so I am actively adding to my position as cash frees up.

I have over 20% of my total portfolio wrapped up in this ETF so I really believe in it. I am also very young and can stomach the risk at this point in my life. 30% YTD and climbing a percent or two almost daily.

What is your target price for HII? I don't understand why it is dropping so much today after beating earnings.

Yes this is great advice and I am aware, had a few expensive mishaps on Kalshi/Polymarket teaching myself how to use this thing as a trading bot. Tried weather, politics, crypto, economic data, all of it. Backtesting was insane and Claude would randomly turn on bots that were killed, turn off bots that needed to be on. It was honestly ridiculous.

Currently squeaking out a profit on MLB, Champions League soccer, and NHL playoffs using an inverted "cumulative volume delta" signal to bet on overreactions to runs/goals scored that create underpriced underdogs. Long, long way to go to get profitable. Next up to try is arbitrage between those two prediction markets
