Forgive my ignorance but wtf is that on the tractor?

It's a land plane. You grade roads with it. I keep mine grading to road center (at an angle) to create a crown so water flows off.

It's a hillbilly thing.

Good job. Also keeps you from grading all the rocks on the road into the ditch. That used to piss my dad off to no end. He was in the site prep dirt work business

AAPL soaring today to a new ATH. I was surprised to learn that their last ATH was Dec-26, 2024. Hopefully it keeps ripping.

Down the fairway for what it is. Just be aware.. 100% carried interest means "we don't expect to cash flow to pay you your 10% preferred return until disposition, so hopefully we execute well and catch you up at the end". And 80% split is what you offer when you really need to incentivize investors.

Just from what you shared and knowing they are going after distressed hotels, it's not a low risk investment. But I haven't researched their track record. Maybe they're good at this stuff.

Got some more details from the Advisor.

Management fee is 1.5%, total will be 2.5% to me (an additional 1% from the Advisor).

Advisor says, "We have a lot of experience with Peachtree Group both with their credit funds and equity investments since inception. Each fund is bespoke and cashflows are different. I spoke with Peachtree today and they expect the life of the fund to be 5-7 years with forecasted returns of 14-16% annualized, net of their fees. First capital call is targeted 12/25. The fund is not liquid and we advise clients to expect returns no earlier than year 5".

Just want to point out, the general market environment they have historically been successful in is not likely to be anything like the current and upcoming one. No returns until the back end of the hold is exactly what their structure hinted at. There's many more factors that can go terribly wrong than ones that HAVE to go right. And in the meantime, they will get their fees while you have to hope it pans out. All I will continue to say is.. be careful. There is safer places for your money that can return enough to not have to worry about a risky venture that really doesn't return all that much, and relies on a recovering market (one that would exist within an economic regime that would likely have multiple avenues that could easily outpace those returns).

Not a sexy pick at all here, as you're literally investing in trash - but Republic Services (RSG) looks to me like it might be about to form a pivot point where it is around $220. This is a long term play - not a short term flip. I think this one will push $260 by June.

Edit to add if this drops below and holds below $216 my potential pivot point will be invalid and target is out the window.

Curious what you think of this chart Heineken.

If you have a WSJ subscription there is a great (and sobering) article this morning about how OpenAI has become "too big to fail" thanks to Sam Altman's dealing.

It's going to be the USG having to bail them out if things turn ugly-

like back in 2008 and saving Goldman Sachs and AIG with TARP bailout.
