What could TSLA possibly announce during earnings that would make it go up? Because there appears to be a lot of buy in today.
I engaged in humor with you and you got mad at me. While you are here just know I am a forum troll at heart but it is clear you know what you are talking about.$30,000 Millionaire said:
All right guys. I generally come here to help and I've generally posted good ideas for the last 5 years. I try to sprinkle some humor in and I think I've been a net positive contributor here, but I see that my contribution isn't wanted.
Good luck to all of you. I hope you all make money and that you are successful in your personal and professional lives.
I've been following this thread almost daily for years....I'm a small fish but learned a lot and do what I can with my small account and time I can dedicate to it.$30,000 Millionaire said:

Skittish. I have an order in to write covered calls on half my position again.Eliminatus said:

The NATO deal and now the FED Ramp deal with Anthropic are going to be big long term.Eliminatus said:

Jeez, ppl so sensitive. Anyone claiming big ROI and/or big win rate, throwing mud about bad entires, etc., should be ready for some critical feedback. Any day or swing trader serious about long term success will know their rrr, win rate, % risk per trade, repeatable entry/exit signals, slippage, return/trade, ROC, sharpe, etc. per trade type long, short, options, whatever. The reason you never see this stuff from anyone is (a) they dont track it and dont really know their success metrics (b) the actual metrics are not good and most success for traders is either not really existent or the success is asymmetric and made on only a handful of non-systematic unrepeatable entries.
That was my initial thought too. I missed the buzz few months ago and looking to start my position soon. With all the ensuing turmoil was wondering if the long time holders were still feeling good about it.I bleed maroon said:Skittish. Just 2 contracts because it's for an earnings play
Ah, got some reading to do then. Thanks. I know this is more of a swing trade but this thread gets the eyes and this is one I am wanting to go long on.confucius_ag said:The NATO deal and now the FED Ramp deal with Anthropic are going to be big long term.Eliminatus said:

If you're opening a new position, consider researching either a buy/write or a protective put.Eliminatus said:That was my initial thought too. What you've laid out is perfectly reasonable and what most, if not all, on this thread realize. But we all know that does NOT apply in all cases. I'm with you on "if it sounds too good to be true......". but I'm also a due diligence type.Mr.Milkshake said:

I have in the past, even going back to 2012 when the board thought AAPL was cooked. Financials in 08/09 before that. Through the volatility crush of 2016. But started and ran a boutique systematic trading fund for a few years that ran until 2021 - after which I didnt trade for a few years, until just recently after an exit opened up some liquidity. Made first purchase at 5576. If we get another leg down, will go for ~4575. Not day trading, as its extremely difficult to be successful as a long-short day trader even with a large amount of historic data - which I no longer have. But, confident around building long-only position with leverage around big drawdown events.Copa515 said:Mr.Milkshake said:

I don't comment much and think your assumption here would usually be correct but I have been following this thread for many years now and can tell you that when 30k comments you should probably just shut up and listen. He's probably the best trader I have seen trade live (on OA's service) and I have subscribed to several other services in the past.
You seem to be pretty knowledgeable looking back at some of your posts, but I don't think I have seen you post any of your trades. Why not?
Thanks. Actually wasn't considering that as I have little experience in options but I'll do some heavy reading soon. This thread always has me interested in it. I am a swing trader (if that) at heart but need to get over my fear/ignorance of options at some point. Even if I just end up dabbling in it at best. Time to start paper trading!I bleed maroon said:If you're opening a new position, consider researching either a buy/write or a protective put.Eliminatus said:That was my initial thought too. Buy/Write: Limits your upside, but lowers your cost basis
Protective Put: Buying the stock with corresponding "insurance" in case of a steep decline.
Be careful if you're looking long term...there are gaps to the downside (way down) that still need to be filled at $42, $31 and $24Eliminatus said:Thanks.
