Today might be the first time ever that I listen to a Disney earnings call. Trying to find out what time that is lol. I bought 500 calls at the $5 strike for $0.11 yesterday hoping they mention FUBO quite a few times. FUBO picked up steam recently again so hoping to ride this baby to $6…

Unfortunately Friday or fortunately depending on how it reacts today. If positive I will go net free. It's from the premium I sold CCs on FUBO yesterday so if it gets wiped I'm back to zero for the week but if it runs it could be a great week!

Schwab ranks AMD with an F. POWL not much better with a D.

The last few weeks I have only purchased A rating stocks on Schwab, same with their recommendation on ELF.
Seems to be working quite nicely.
As someone mentioned a few days ago, going at it alone just doesn't work for investors like me.

AMAT has a ranking of A.
Per Schwab
AMAT appears to be consolidating within a longer term downtrend. Shares are presently below the 200-day moving average, which is falling along with the 10-day moving average. However, the Average Directional Index, or ADX, is below 20, indicating that shares have exhibited sideways movement recently. Comparative Relative Strength analysis shows that this issue is outperforming the S&P 500.

I
I'm happy that you're taking control of your investments because that is really what's most important, but you haven't discovered the Holy Grail of investing. Schwab is a regulated platform and has in house advisors. They cannot present aggressive ratings due to liability. If you only focus on their 'A' rated stocks, then you're essentially buying a mutual fund without the management fees.

I doubt the "24" in your handle was the year you graduated from A&M because your account started many years before that. You decide what type of investor you are that fits well for you, but don't discount the approach of others that are looking for more. $CLS has a 'C' rating on Schwab, but I posted last week that I was buying it under $90/shr. My approach combines fundamental, backed up by technical analysis. Is my approach superior? No, but it works for me to achieve much better returns than mutual funds.
Thanks for the write up.

Good call on $CLS, wished I had seen that. Just learning who to follow and who to take with a grain of salt on this forum.

Keep in mind this is mostly a trading thread, with a lot of technical analysis folks, so long term ratings by the big houses may not be as useful
No problem, open forum for all to talk about investing. My message was for those like me wanting a good return with minimum risk and without paying the ridiculous fees.

Obviously a lot of smart technical people on here and I will continue to follow picks and learn from them.

PLTR valuation seems crazy to me. More than double LMT market cap and over 500 PE

Welcome to 2024-25

Tons of stocks overvalued by historical standards. The strong bid won't change, until this bull market sentiment changes.

I guess the market sees PLTR taking all the market share, in the same way they see CVNA dominating the future used car market. Huge premium for those outcomes.
CVNA isn't dominating use cars. They are securitizing their loans and selling them off. They have essentially created the CLO for used car loans. Go watch the big short, and now imagine instead of loans on houses of suspect credit quality being packaged together and sold off, it's loans of varying credit quality on depreciating assets at the peak of their historical valuation at a time when the consumer has never been more in debt and credit exposure has never been higher.

This is going to blow up in spectacular fashion.

What's going on here?
FMC Corp issued a revenue warning for the first quarter, causing its stock to plunge over 20% in after-market trading due to cautious buying and surplus inventory.

What does this mean?
FMC Corp, a major player in the crop-protection industry, predicts first-quarter 2025 revenues between $750 million and $800 million, far below Wall Street's $963.7 million expectations. This shortfall comes from weak demand as customers and retailers cut purchases amidst dipping commodity prices and excess inventory. Although FMC beat fourth-quarter profit forecasts with an adjusted profit of $1.79 per share against an expected $1.60, the company now faces earnings challenges. Inventory gluts, particularly in insecticides and fungicides, worsen this situation. Competing with Syngenta, BASF, and Bayer in the US, FMC is also dealing with adverse foreign exchange effects and conservative buying behavior.

Why should I care?
For markets: Navigating the inventory storm.
The substantial stock drop underscores the market's sensitivity to inventory and demand fluctuations. This highlights for investors the importance of monitoring commodity prices and customer buying patterns. Companies in the crop-protection sector, like FMC, Syngenta, and Bayer, might face similar pressures, suggesting potential volatility in their stocks.

The bigger picture: The ripple effect of agricultural dynamics.
FMC's revenue decline indicates broader challenges in agriculture. As growers and retailers remain cautious, global ramifications of these inventory adjustments could affect supply chains and lead to strategic shifts in related industries.

Quote:

  • FMC Corp (NYSE:FMC) faces significant challenges with elevated channel inventories, particularly in regions like Brazil, India, and Eastern Europe.
  • The company anticipates a pronounced negative impact on 2025 financial performance due to aggressive actions needed to reposition the business.
  • Pricing pressures are expected due to cost-plus contracts with partners and increased competition from generic products, particularly in Asia.
  • The restructuring program, while delivering savings, requires substantial investment in expanding sales organizations and exploring new routes to market.
  • FMC Corp (NYSE:FMC) is experiencing a shifting market structure in Latin America, requiring increased investments to adapt to new distribution channels and direct sales approaches.

Right now. Feb 14th $237.50 puts looking for min target at $233 and max target $225 which should be 2x-6x. All or nothing. Your risk is buying only what you are willing to lose.

I will say though, timeline for the drop I'm looking for goes through Feb 21, 2 days after earnings.. so it could theoretically wait until then and have a big drop. And there is not good R/R on the Feb 21's.

HIMS online shopping sucks. I bought a hair thickening shampoo that I like off their site because H-E-B no longer sells it. It's double the price on the website and takes a week to deliver and no option to pay for faster delivery.

I'm stupid thought. I should have gone on Amazon. Same shampoo you get 2 for price of 1 on the HIMS website.

It's way overbought, so wait for a pullback, but one to keep an eye on.

came here to post FUBO though, I'm already up a good amount, but if rotation happens into small caps, this one could really run:
