The who's who of TexAgs bagholders lol. These stocks move quick! I know we've been in / discussed LUMN GENI BRDS over the past year or so. BRDS was a good call that a handful made some coin on in a brief rally.

It was announced in the spring that talks were ongoing. Seemed like it could be coming. I was wondering if XOM was looking into both Pioneer and Endeavor, and has settled on Pioneer.

Converted all my PXD Traditional IRA shares to Roth IRA last week!

I cant read that story due to firewall. Should equare to $250 to $260 per share if it goes through.

XOM should go down.

If I am buying, I'd likely buy XOM. Combining these 2 companies will make one helluva powerhouse. I dont know if you guys are noticing what is happening with XOM and their projects in Guyana, they are flat killin' it. PXD is a cash register with an open til because they cant close it - too full of money.

When Scott Sheffield retired I posted here that the guy taking his place was the CFO from Sam Houston as i recall. I said if Scott is negotiating to sell, having that CFO at the helm is what you'd want. Let CFO run the numbers and Scott does the negotiating. In my opinion this deal was done during that announcement. It's how I would orchestrate it if it were me.

Think forward.

How the heck can the DOW not reinvite XOM back into this elite group. That's worth an extra $1 to $2 per share should that happen due to portfolio rearrangements in indices and funds.

If you play PXD it could be tricky for in & out trades. If XOM buys PXD with shares, check the ratio being used. You could buy PXD and end up with more XOM shares due to value drag. It happened just months ago in the Denbury deal.

I've always heard that Pioneer has the best rock in the Permian. And a lot of it…much of which is old legacy acreage at 1/8 royalty and HBP. Would love to hear thoughts from an engineer but I think this is very accretive to XOM even at this premium per share.

Depending on how XOM is treating debt, buying it or not, will determine share price. Figure $250 to $260 per share with no debt. Figure $235 with debt. Since details arent known to the public, watch for swings as to which end gets the most activity. Best I can tell you at this point - and it's not much.

The XOM:CVX spread is $52, pretty typical. If XOM gets punished tomorrow, keep an eye on CVX. If CVX goes down in price in sympathy to XOM...CVX is a good buy for a trade. No reason for CVX to go down with XOM.

I calculated $259.12 based on the 231.51M share float and $60B. But I could be wrong.

Isn't JPow speaking today? I wonder if he was waiting on this number to frame his message today. They know a strong jobs report means more inflation. How do you deal with it? More rate hikes. My opinion is two more hikes to end the year.

I only see one Fed speaker at noon. Powell not scheduled today.

Why would the Fed raise rates at all when the bond market is doing their work for them? Our debt to GDP is something like 140:1 already, raising rates more makes it worse with debt service increase.
