Today ****ing sucked.

I wasn't active today because I had to go to a funeral for a very close friend. This was my 3rd funeral in 2 years for family and friend. I need a break from **** like this, I really do. I love to laugh and make others laugh. That said, all you MFers in here don't die anytime soon because I couldn't take it. I like and respect all you *******s on this thread, even y'all on team blue. I may not agree with you, but I wouldn't attack you either, This respect is non-transferable to your brethren on F16 that are total *******s.

I'm going to have another drink.
Hate to hear this. Wish I had good words of cheer and comfort, but I can't come up with any. Don't drink too much, that just makes tomorrow hurt more. Pretty sure I speak for everyone here when I say your expressed feelings are mutual. Hell, the only thing I even post in here anymore is giving you and Irish **** for getting banned on F16 (I'm not trading much these days...loooong story), but you're one of my favorites on this site.

Get some rest.

Am I the only filthy degenerate amongst you that is invested in ZIM? Phillip J Fry has it on his watch list, but not sure if he's dipped his toes.

For you divy loving bastids, 17 dollar a share dividend (not annual, but 17 per share in your pocket NEXT MONTH) to be paid out in early April if youre a shareholder as of Mar 23rd. Yes 17 is fn ridiculous, but its only based off their commitment to give 50% of 2021 earnings back to shareholders. The dip has been bought every time after a divy payout. So you can play it either way. Get the divy n hold, or swoop in like a hawk and buy the dip that coincides with the ex-div. Some people are aversed to the divy as it comes with a 25% Israeli tax. There's paperwork that can be filed to get that as a tax credit btw.

Anyhow, my plan is to hold my 300 shares for the divy. If it goes down for whatever macro reason (under $70) before ex-date I'm going to load up on more. If it drops hard after dividend paid out, i'll load up more as well. Only way I dont add on is if the price keeps moving up towards a hundred. At this rate its looking like fair value.

Supply chain issues and Oil price gauging both play in the shipping industries favor. The latter on account that the industry passes price off to customer and adjusts by shipping at a slower speed to conserve fuel. Voila, another log into the FCF fire.

I know nothing about this company but the chart looks good. That, with their dividend, almost seems like a too good to be true type thing. I'll do more in depth research into it this weekend because I'm interested. Not a slight towards you but the last time I bought a stock based on the story was GOED. Challenger17, love ya man, but you deserve a junk punch for that one.

Anyone else use DoorDash? My wife ordered some donuts for the kids this morning. Dasher was 1.5hrs late because no dashers would take orders due to gas prices.

We live in Arlington and our dashed came from Weatherford because she had a Hybrid or something.

Sounds like that company is gonna fall further.

Yeah, I was reading about how pure convenience plays like food delivery are in a bad spot because people that have become used to paying a fee and are now being squeezed by rising food/fuel costs have a relatively clear solution...cook their own food (or at least pick it up).

Mean while back at the ranch we have 7.9% inflation.. .something like 16% if you use the old method....

Yeah, nothing is better right now and the market will still rip and dump.

Putin Says Talks Progressing... Markets Move up at 6.15...Bonds Drop

At 6.15 there were headlines where Putin said "talks progressing" but the reality is that the bombing continues... Markets are fickle, but while we hope they are right, we see no progress...If the NY Post was right in running the story that Putin fired 8 Generals yesterday we doubt the worst is over... But for now we see S+P futures went up 100 points from the low at midnight, with the bigger move at 6.22 am... We are now up 50 odd points... What we are trying to impress on clients that there is limited liquidity for the amount of positions that are on in the options market... Fed meeting next week still looms

Rates...2 years hit 1.75, a new recent high.. Yield curves are flattening again..2/10 is down to 28, while 5/30 are 42...we were asked in an interview with the FT if we thought the curve would go inverted... Our response was that towards the May and June meetings it is a possibility...but it does not mean the economy is going into a recession... On the contrary, driving down to Austin, 1800 miles, the number of tractor trailers on the highways outnumbers cars 5 to 1.. No recession in sight from our perspective... But would not be surprised to see a slowdown... As for WIRP, it is clearly 25 next week... And 50/50 for 50 in May with close to 4 total by the end of June... If the Fed is that aggressive then an inversion of 2/10 is at least a 30% possibility... As for today, 10 years are now back at 2%...support is 2.07..5 years at 1.98 and 2 years at 1.81... The long bond is still keeping the stop of yesterday...rates will not go that far before we see the Fed next week..

Fed... Still fighting inflation... But how fast?...street is still building in 7 hikes for this year... We see 4 with balance sheet reduction worth about another 2...In our many years on Wall Street, Powell is the first "businessman to lead the Fed".. Yellen and Bernanke were academicians... Greenspan about the same... And Volcker was a hybrid mix that came in with a mission to fight inflation... We believe the last thing Powell wants is to send the economy into a recession... While inflation is probably going to get worse with the supply chain and Russia, we still think it comes down over the summer...

Corporates... Yesterday we saw 5 borrowers price 16.5 billion, bringing the weeks total to 68 billion, 50% higher than the expectation for the week... But order-books were only 1.8 times oversubscribed, a recent low for that metric. New issue concessions gaped to 15.3 basis, another recent high... New issues are coming as it still makes sense for corporate treasurers, but at a heavy cost to those that maintain large secondary positions...spreads remain elevated with CDX IG at 72, HY at 386... IG OAS at 165 and HY OAS at 432... All near the wides of the year...

GS raised the odds of a recession to 35%... We still do not see it but Hatzius said this morning

"Goldman Sachs Group Inc.'s economists warned the probability of a U.S. recession in the next year may be as much as 35% as they cut their forecasts for growth due to the hit from soaring oil prices and other fallout from the war in Ukraine.Economists led by Jan Hatzius cut their prediction for expansion this year to 1.75% from 2.0%, on a fourth quarter-to-fourth quarter basis, they wrote in a note published late Thursday"

Meanwhile Bank America put out a forecast that there will be no yield curve at the end of the year with all rates at 2.25%... Not so much different from March of 2019 when 2 years were 2.42, 5 years 2.45 and 10 years at 2.65...

Expect choppiness through the day as no one wants to be too far over their skis going into a weekend with fighting continuing... And Putin with his back to the wall...
