it's not, but I doubt it's high utility to argue with you. I believe that the vaccine is the best solution to put covid behind us. If you have different beliefs, great.

p.s. hypersonic warfare should scare the living sh out of everyone. Unstoppable weapons and if the Chinese beat us to it, that's a terrible development.

Not to get too political, but why? China's already bought our politicians, who continue to enact policies intended to destroy our country.

At the rate we're going, we'll end up having a civil war here in the next ten to fifteen years, China will just have to mop up what's left.

04:19 PM EDT, 07/29/2021 (MT Newswires) -- Gilead Sciences (GILD) late Thursday reported Q2 adjusted EPS of $1.87, rising from $1.11 a year earlier and topping the average analyst estimate of $1.75 in a Capital IQ poll.

Revenue grew 21% to $6.2 billion, just ahead of analysts' $6.1 billion average estimate. Product gross margin was 77.4% for the quarter, compared with 79% in the year-ago quarter.

For full-year 2021, the drugmaker said it now expects total product sales of $24.4 billion to $25 billion versus $23.7 billion to $25.1 billion previously, and adjusted EPS of $6.90 to $7.25, against $6.75 to $7.45 previously. The Street estimate was for an adjusted earnings of $7.08 per share.

  • Revenue: $113.08 billion vs $115.2 billion, according to analysts surveyed by Refinitiv

Amazon's revenue grew by 27% year over year in the second quarter, but that still missed Wall Street's expectations.
For the third quarter, Amazon said it expects to book sales between $106 billion and $112 billion, representing growth of 10% to 16% compared to the same period last year. That's well below consensus estimates of $119.2 billion.

This is what blows me away. They grow 27% yoy and outperform EPS, but because they didn't hit the revenue target that some analysts came up with it hurts them? Or is it more based on their guidance for the 3rd quarter?

If shares I am not selling mine I think this is over done here.

I am in for a split someday.

Chances are there is money to be made on calls back the other way shortly.

I never understood this. You could have a monkey throwing darts at these "earnings estimates". Who makes these people any more knowledgeable than your or I? And it seems like earnings totally hinge on what they say sometimes.

it only hinges on IV. Pigs will get slaughtered, nothing else matters. and it is why I almost never play earnings (and the only way I do is with a net free or a very small lotto position).

Amazon beat earnings by 2.82 EPS or 23%. Separately, $15 EPS when the shares cost 3600 is ridiculous. Amazon missed on revenue by $2.12B or 1.8%. 27% YoY growth. A 1.8% sales miss is hardly cause for a 7% drop in stock price. I wonder what they would have had to report for it to be neutral?

Analyst guidance is in my opinion, way too aggressive. For Q3, analysts want $119B and Amazon is saying max of $112B. $112B would be 16% growth, $119B would be 23% growth, YoY.

I am going to laugh my ass off when they announce a stock split.

I don't understand? Would you not expect with a steep move that it bounce back?

So you could sell a stupid low put tomorrow and get a quick pop on Monday?

Or does retail continue the down trend with paper hands?
