The karma is delicious.

Now let's see how many will cry about moving to Houston.

Starting to see why they chose to lay you off...

My above response to you too. You don't know me, nobody cared when they had the previous layoffs. It's poetic justice. At least 90% of the people will get job offers, field personnel keep their jobs. Don't get all pearl clutching.

I did work there and still know lots of people who work there. I don't need to know you to see that your posts are tasteless. The way you act behind a veil of anonymity is telling.

With prices making another push upwards and complete bounce back on bbl/day in total production. What does the board think about the favorability of Off-shore production?

I think companies like RIG and SDRL (mostly RIG) could be worth a buy and hold approach.

I think it comes down to the economics of the wells, which I'm not privy to. In many companies, who have onshore and offshore, these projects compete for capital.

I like RIG in a "higher for longer" scenario. They have the highest spec fleet and have weathered the downturn best among offshore drillers.

Edit: Also a lot of exciting offshore activity around Africa which should be good for all offshore drillers.

Speaking of Chesapeake...

The judge that presided over their bankruptcy just resigned due to ethics probe. Judge was sleeping with attorney representing Chesapeake. Ooops.

they were actually living together, got in trouble for not disclosing the relationship. She was also one of his law clerks for six years.

Judge Jones was a pretty big presence on the bankruptcy circuit. Excellent judge.

Anyone have any thoughts on Chesapeake's CEO? He was their CFO during Aubrey's tenure and all through Lawlers.

It's interesting/surprising they went through all of that, emerged from bankruptcy and handed the keys to the CFO.

I think they kept him around because he's the only one who could keep up with all of their financial engineering they had done over the years. I can only imagine what the corporate org chart looks like.

Is it ? That is the playbook if you have owners that were former bond holders and other various creditors. Move from the cowboy culture to a bean counter. See it alot

in the opposite move, Linn pinned all of the blame on Kolja.

Yah, that was easy out in that situation. The banker parties in Vegas and jackets made him an easier target/fall guy.

The money from Chicago orchestrated the bankruptcy. Lawler and Dell just followed their orders. Those orders included committing perjury during the bankruptcy trial and cooking the books before the trail. Dell is CEO but has zero authority or duties.

That's a pretty strong accusation: perjury and cooking the books.

That is quite the story there. Generally, in a bankruptcy like CHK or similar size, you file with some version of a plan or atleast agreement from main creditors.

With Chicago, are you referring to Kirkland ?

Might be time for Oxy to make an acquisition since they survived this round (for now).
