less than $2.50 MCF with current key basin differentials will not compel natural gas focused production growth.

I'm of opinion most stuff in current inflationary market (D&C, increased debt financing costs with SOFR run up, other items) really pushes the healthy growth levels to $4.50.

I was having the same thought. Have the low natural gas prices trickled through to the electricity rates yet? Or is there some lag time?

My take is that the average texagger suburban home follows this general path. Total yearly consumption of 27,000 kwh. If you got stuck with 16 cents/kwh thats $4320 a year in electricity costs. Ouch. Renewing right now to 12 cents/kwh is $3240. Thats a $1080 in savings. Thats an easy take even with a $200+ cancellation fee.

Every cent the price moves down would net the average texagger $270 a year.

I think the prices are going to go down to 11-10 cents a kwh all in. We're not ever going back to the 6-7cent days with the liability that wind/solar and the ERCOT price spiking model creates for our grid.

Maybe give it a month or so. I checked a few weeks ago and the best price was 12.6c/kwh. Its already down to 12 now.

I use www.texaspowerguide.com to buy the best plan. Its like a DIY energy ogre. Only costs $10 to reveal the best plan.

Is that retail cost, or are you including Centerpoint's T&D charge?

Thats the total cost of delivery. Includes the T&D charge.

On that website, you can play with it if you want to exclude the T&D cost. In my mind, excluding the T&D cost is just mental masturbation to see a lower number, as it doesn't reflect the actual cost coming out of your wallet.

The website is free to play around, $10 to reveal the best plan. They de-monkeyify the games the plans play to show you the straightforward, all in, average cost. I'm not a big fan of trying to re-obscure that cost by pulling out the T&D.

I could understand the natty move to an extent with the combination of record production, freeport down and storage levels being high with mild winter.

Crude feels different and more macro fund positioning and maybe some USD strength.

Kinda like Natty- I dont see how the current crude curve (albeit flat) incentivizes production increases.

"BP's Kmarin Diamond (previously British Diamond) was on hand to free up space in the facilities LNG tanks after they were granted permission to discharge existing volumes that had been stored since the shutdown, about 330,000m3. The tanker promptly loaded and departed on February 11, 2023, enroute to Egypt," McClain added.

What are the O&G salary raises looking like these days? Specifically for public companies in technical/engineering positions. I thought it would be higher with record profits and inflation, but most still got the same 3% this year.

In theory, record profits should be shared with employees through bonuses rather than raises. Raises increase future costs and would make layoffs in the next downturn bigger.

Agree.

We are getting near record bonus this year (paid in March 2023 for 2022 results).

We then will likely get a 3% inflation (last year was like 4%) adjustment this year.

As for anything beyond that, usually is driven by market analysis which is pretty intensive and I believe every 3 years.

6% COLA on Jan 1.

2-4% as part of market merit next week.

Edit: I'll see bonus numbers for my team next week payable on March 10 so not sure what that number looks like yet.

What was your COLA the prior year if 6% this year?

Wondering if i am under-estimating what ours could be this year.

I am curious how long employers will keep up with this higher rates or will they eventually balk and see if people leave?
Maverick06
How long do you want to ignore this user?

First time ever getting COLA that I know of. Our usual yearly raises are more than 2% though.
