My favorite thing was on a project, changes for out of control on some valves and when they went to pick them up, the stem was like 12 feet long to hold all the instruments because nobody had thought to think about what those symbols on the P&ID would end up being physically.

No, I get audited plenty by the government. I have been very unimpressed with almost all the folks I've worked with in that regard. But it's easy enough to give them what they want and they go on their way. The bull**** FLNG is dealing with in not being allowed to restart is a level of interference that comes with having a significant **** up.

Old news on Rio Grande LNG project, but I was on vacation last week. https://apnews.com/article/new-orleans-texas-business-climate-and-environment-1bbb5524bf19e4610661a18520e00778

They are trying to get it as cheap as possible. And likely don't have enough money to spend to get it. What happened to sell high buy low? Where did all that money go?

Maybe they used it to buy crypto.

I'm sure they'll just find a way to temporarily drop the price of crude so they can look like heroes at the expense of the oil and gas industry, it is obvious there was never any intent to carry through on their promise to refill the SPR at prices which would be supportive of the domestic industry.

Interesting enough, I was just in a meeting with a director at the SPR. We discussed the buy back process. Essentially what happened here, that wasn't communicated in the press, was they got nothing but non-market 'stink bids'. The impression I got was that bidders thought they could take advantage of a government contract. Just relaying that over.

I hope this admin. doesn't refill the SPR. The less tools there are available later for politically-driven market manipulation, the better (for an executive branch occupies by either party).

Agree- but looking towards Q3/Q4 2023, we are going to be undersupplied if assumptions are even remotely correct.

Looks like CHK found a buyer for their Brazos Valley asset: https://www.reuters.com/markets/deals/chesapeake-sell-14-bln-south-texas-operations-partial-win-sources-2023-01-18/

Wildfire already has some of the old Clayton Williams leases in Brazos Co. I know they've been rejuvenating some old wells there too.

Hope that Wildfire does better with this acreage than they did with two earlier buys.

Hawkwood acreage they started with ended up below average. The MD America acreage was absolute disaster.

curious on how they fund the $1.4 bln buy.

More curious how they raise that kind of money and get the ok to buy crap acreage.

So Wildfire has spent now what $2.0B to acquire their position in a tier two play? What's the exit here?

I've been asking the same thing. Maybe they're going for a yield play and hedge it out. Anyone have a guestimate what the PDP 10 is on it.

Doesn't really matter at this point, PDP PV9-10 is only good for bank debt, but sales are going for PDP PV30-40
Cyp0111

I dunno about that level of discount, I spend quite a time in the market and decent assets trade PV 15ish

I've had 2 assets sales processes on the market recently. Also this was a point multiple speakers had driven home at the Hart M&A conference recently(after we got our bids in). Driven primarily from acquisition multiples for public company's being in the 2-2.5x and needing to be accretive.

Detring just put out a market recap indicating PV10 possible in certain basins for certain assets. Will post shortly.

Thanks. We are not seeing a ton of PV 10. PV 15-20ish, small packages are getting further discounted

With no large independents in the area, it will have to be. But marginal well results coupled with the high cost of doing business for the foreseeable future I don't see how Warburg or Kayne love that thesis.

that thesis worked well in 2021 when raising capitol. Deploying it now is tough. Getting squezed on all ends.

Im curious to see when gas rigs start to drop. I'm struggling with economics with diffs given cost inflation. Maybe we will just see Ducs build.

Anyways, I dont see many people wanting to take on debt to fund capex programs and/or the public guys putting divy at risk.

Will be interesting.

Mid-December price deck was around $1B.

With gas prices heading where they are, you'll start to see a drop soon. Especially in the gas/condensate areas. Really interested to see what Comstock and Aethon do in Robertson/Leon area. Imagine they have some wells to put down within the next two years before acreage expirations. $25MM D&C....

I'm assuming their stock would get hammered if they took on debt to pay for CAPEX in excess of cash flow these days. Is that your opinion?

IMO - Also once you hook shareholders on dividends you can't take them back (unless you are cash flow negative and bleeding cash) - the genie can't be put back in the bottle without your stock price also cratering.

Aethon is dropping a large chunk of their Haynesville rigs.

I've got some insight on Comstock D&C cost outlook in Robertson county and to say it's large is understatement of the cycle
