Surprised this hasn't been posted here yet. Pretty large position in Andrews/Martin County mostly operated by COP. I know OVV, PXD, FANG and now DE4 have a piece of it too. Will be interested to see how this shakes out.

The Mabees bent CXO/COP et al over with some of their lease amendments/renewals with threats of lawsuits. Will be interesting to see how this shakes out. I could see COP throwing a lot of money at it to increase their NRI, but also get the Mabees out of their way.

Think it may have been a favor from PXD but not sure. I believe it's just a single DSU so not much runway but they had two rigs on it recently. Not sure if they're still there or not

I see that Van Buren is being replaced by Wael Sawan at Shell. For those closer to the situation, was this always the plan from back when they moved Sawan from Upstream Director to renewables? A PR move while the transition was happening behind the scenes? Or does this really signal the transition in focus for Shell that I'm getting from most articles?

it was obvious to me that Wael was going to be a candidate at some point. he was moving rapidly up the leadership ladder. he hasn't been in his current role very long, but I didn't anticipate Ben leaving either really.

Wael is a pretty no nonsense kind of guy, I've met him once in person. hard to say yet though how much our strategy might change with him at the helm.

Work with a guy who was employed there previously. He told me about this a couple weeks back and the whole back story about how internal compliance had identified and encouraged self reporting, management didn't, got busted, then signed NPA and kept on skirting rules. Said he was very happy to get out of there

Know more R and U stamp shops than I care to. Bought from local mom and pops in the Permian to the bid dogs in Oklahoma and Houston.

Quick search shows 247 U stamp shops in Houston alone. That said, only a handful can do a 200' 300k pound SS vessel.

PM me with more details.

I'm in Colorado, project in CA. But it's a large enough job that we need a solid company more so than local.

WSJ: Private Oil Drillers Are Hitting Their Limits

Pretty interesting WSJ article. They believe the growth of privates is levelling out and they're going to have to start consolidating via accusations. Main reason being they're already running out of top inventories. Also stating supply chain issues.

Quote:

After growing rapidly, most smaller producers now have, on average, around six years of drilling locations that could generate returns at low prices, according to data provided to The Wall Street Journal by energy analytics firm Enverus Inc. Energy executives say those limitations will likely lead them to slow their drilling.
Quote:

The constraints will likely lead many private producers to level out activity or sell themselves to larger companies that would temper their growth, executives and analysts say. A pullback could crimp overall U.S. oil production. Private producers hold around one-fifth of the Permian's most valuable acreage, analysts say.
Also found this stat pretty crazy:
Quote:

Smaller producers are running half the rigs in the Permian but only have roughly 20% of the area's drilling inventory.

That's kind of scary long term.
