I heard that yesterday re: LNG export expansion. Didn't hear projected startup dates. My comment on years was assuming you start the job now in response to European shortage.

quit whining. so what if you are going to struggle to lift that well for the next 20+ years possibly to the point of shortening its economic life, drilling saved 18 hours on their days to TD time on that wellthepartygoat said:
I'm all for drilling efficiency provided they dont corkscrew the wellbore, sucks not being able to install rod pumps on +500 wells because the drilling guys went balls to the walls lol
At least we're not the Russians.Comeby! said:
You couldn't hang a plumb bob from surface to TD on any producing well in the world without hitting the side of the casing. Figure it out.

Have you seen the recent Energy Transfer (I think?) commercial? One of the best (and only) commercials I've seen promoting the positives of oil and gas. I wish there was more of this to help the broader public understanding of the industry.
Easier to sell feeling rather than facts/science. Eco groups have an easy feeling sell. O&G doesn't really have a feelings story to sell.Ogre09 said:Sporty Spice said:

Have you seen how dumb the average person is? And how ignorant of science, math, and logic? It's hard to teach them facts. It's easier to sell them a false, simplified fantasy of how things "should be."

O&G make just about everything we use on a daily basis. Life saving devices don't happen. "Green"products such Teslas, solar panels, and windmills don't get made without plastic and rubber and other petrochemical products and by-products. I imagine there's someone outside of uninventive engineers that can put together years and years worth of good information.
Those are all great facts. But how good of a feeling story is "without O&G we will all starve to death in the dark". It may be true but it doesn't feel that way to the average American that doesn't understand where their food comes from, let alone all the parts on their car, and everything in their house or even comprehend what a world without cheap food and power is like.AgLA06 said:

The only thing that we know with any certainty is that straws made out of paper or plant based plastic are gutter trash and should be outlawed worldwide.BiochemAg97 said:Those are all great facts. And even if you made a commercial showing a typical house with stuff and then remove everything made with oil/by-products (and not just made using power from O&G), it will be spun into a call to make all that stuff from non O&G products. After all, there are plant based plastics. Doesn't matter that they don't have suitable properties for whatever.
