Venado is gone. Spur was not impacted by this. They are half owned by EMG, which kept them out of the consolidation due to the presence of the other sponsor.
Sounds like FDL is getting rolled up too with the stakes in Permian & Wyoming

Is any PE backed company not getting rolled up these days?

What about PE shops? Who's still in the game?

Morgan Stanley note this morning says Callon most natural acquirer for Colgate. Others:
FANG - Endeavor
OVV - Surge
EOG/XEC - Tap Rock

Can someone tell me why Oklahoma oil and gas deals are out of favor? Outside BLM and native considerations.

For the most part it's pretty gassy. But I think the absolute biggest thing is that well spacing/parent child affects are absolutely a nightmare - way worse than most other shale plays. If memory serves me righr, the consensus was that only a relatively small high perm zone in the Meramac (I think) contributes the vast majority of the production. Throw in the seismicity issues (which isn't only water disposal - I've seen clear evidence) and the abundant faults which can absolutely wreck productivity and I think people are tired of swinging and (mostly) missing there. They definitely have good wells and opportunities, but I think it's a really dangerous place to buy acerage without experience working it already.

What happened to Casillas? They sold a big position in SCOOP to Continental then vanished, it appears. They also backed out of a new office lease overlooking the Tulsa Drillers field.

Have a look at the acreage footprints for both groups. Goes together very similar to the PE / PXD deal...

I honestly don't see Autry or his estate ever selling that.

Unless he get's some absolute ridiculous valuation from a major which I don't for see happening.

Interesting to see what happens with Ensign. Not sure how much good inventory is really left on that position and with Warburg being all over the place when it comes to oil and gas investing, I'm not sure what the future exit is.

I've been on the service side of the industry since 2012 and survived every downturn but recently there has been a mass exodus unlike anything I have ever seen from my department as colleagues move on to better opportunities. I was curious to know if others are experiencing a similar situation.

Or different industries altogether?

I don't post here much, but I've been in the "industry" since 2008. A majority of my time was spent as a midstream construction contractor, both pipeline and facilities. I am now on the other side of the fence as of 2018.

My job is much less stressful and I enjoy what I do.

I have been contacted by several recruiters and old contacts to try to lure me back to the dark side. Promises of big bonuses and all the trimmings.

There is a talent gap and it is starting to show.

If you are a young, single, ambitious man, chase it. Make the money. Save some.

I'm too old for this. I'm done with the roller coaster.

I'm at a major and got told last week our new work policy will likely be a combo in the office / work from home as management is afraid that we will lose a lot of people if we go back full time. I think the exodus is definitely a thing

Same. Fortune 100.

We will be doing a flex schedule for everyone under title of manager. Looks like 2 days home / 3 days office but the home days cant be Monday or Friday. Also implementing summer schedule of 9/9/9/9/4.

We have lost a lot of people lately and it's due to a competitive market and companies offering more flexibility. Pretty slow to react but starting to figure it out.

. So managers & above are stuck in office 5 days/week? Wow. My company is actually doing Mon/Fri remote. Tues-Thurs in office.

Purely a guess but I think this is what we will go to also. Makes sense as I'm downstream and when sales starts traveling a bunch again, they were already using Mon and Fri as their travel days

I've been in the industry since 2007 and am leaving next week. I heard it put really well last week - at a lot of places the recovery has only been for the company not the people. I know a lot of people took demotions, benefit cuts, etc and haven't gotten them back.
