I recall when Vencer entered the operated ustream business with their Hunt acquisition. Insiders said they were long oil and wanted the physical production for their trading business (Vitol). The few people I met in upper mgmt at Vencer were not very impressive. Vitol has the VTX operated business as well.

My experience with Vencer has been great - happy for them and good for Civitas

But that's 3 big ones they have made now with TapRock and Hibernia.. hope they are ready for all that!

The reason for the drop is that the consumer is getting squeezed. High mortgage, high gas prices, high inflation. Defaults of auto loans are up, credit card balances are dramatically up. This is a Citi graph of YOY consumer spending.

The demand side is cracking and a lot of money wanted out of the assets class before the music stops.

Most of the debt is gone. Or at least they are at a point where its no longer a priority. They don't even talk about it on their calls. A year ago it was all they would talk about. Focus now is on share repurchases.
