Exactly. Need more transparency in our gas pricing for certain markets. Our marketer is our counterparty in a few areas.
You know very well that you can't get access to Platt's unless you pay to do so. Don't sell gas at GDA if you're not willing to buy their subscription. Otherwise wear the risk of selling against Hub or at fixed price.

I don't want bootleg Platts. Go back and read. I wonder if there's an index that tracks platts or a larger service that provides a subset of platts. At one time there was a service that included some basic platts products.

The only other widely used publication for NatGas indexes will be NGI. That's it.

Past that your options are fixed price or index premiums/discounts to whatever location is in play.

COG/COP have started layoffs today. Sounds like they'll be going on through Wednesday.

Nice of them to wait until after the weather.

COP's last big cycle was disrupted by Harvey. This will probably be a big one.

COP has been cutting consistently for years.

Do you know if that is Houston or Midland (old Concho) or both?

Concho started layoffs Monday and will finish up Wednesday - heard there are 180 Concho people being let go.

Conoco started last week, but I think it turned into a huge cluster with the winter storm, power outages, and trying to get ahold of people. I'm not sure if they continued on Monday or not until today. I know they were working from home on Monday due to water issues at the office still.

Layoffs are being done virtually over Teams calls.

Did anybody see the class action suit being filed against apache management for the Alpine High debacle? Not sure how Christmann survived it to begin with, but hopefully this is enough to finally take him down.

Had a friend find out on a teams call. They logged on and the managers camera happened to be on and he could see the bad news written on her face.

Anyone heard any rumble to the successful bidder for the Ovintiv EF acreage may have been?

I've heard some rumblings but nothing I'd share on a public forum. Not a US company but one that does have some EF acreage already in a JV.

What a cluster.

It is already a pain to deal with GE regarding Vetco issues. I can't wait to see how much of a headache this will bring.

Vetco Diverters and Wellhead Connectors are top shelf kit. It's a shame they have to be passed around like an Indonesian girl at Ipanema by various companies.

It hasn't been GE for 3 years now.

Let's see... Still calls it GE...uses VG diverters and connectors... Seadrill or Noble?
The TOI guys i know still call it GE too.

I kind of feel bad for the old Hydril guys. In less than 15 years their paychecks will have had come from 4 or more different employers.

I wonder if this is a move by BH to get one foot out of the large equipment manufacturing business or if its a play to swallow up MHWirth completely in a few years similar to how SLB does any joint venture.

Yes.

As soon as I stop getting email blasted by engageDrilling@ge.com, I'll stop referring to Vetco as GE.

The country western bar is where it is at. At least until you have had enough to go up to Top 5.

Only place in Sing we found with Budweiser... what was the place upstairs from Ipanema? Bongo Bar? Had the live bands ...

Also, take a trip to circular road for a few drinks; some good Karaoke bars there. If your really adventurous go to Geyland Road and Lor 13 to Lor 20 and walk around near sunset... all the street walkers (what's the opposite of vanish) out thin air at that time. Good people watching that is...

I spent some time in Southern Brazil at the Pitanga Petroleum Club? Dirt floors, local talent and hardly anybody spoke English while I directed Some Rig moves, good times for a young guy that didn't speak Portuguese!

Ahhh, the memories. I was but a wee lad of just 21 years the first time I set foot in the Four Floors. It certainly opened my eyes.

Yes, it was bongo bongo upstairs. Great little bar with some pretty good bands.

God, I miss those days...

FHK and I have a mutual friend who is a mouthy welshman rig inspector. One night, he was drunk and talking **** in the Thai restaurant in the floors (3rd floor I think) where all the lady boys hang out. Chef finally had enough of it, came out of the kitchen, and started beating him with a broom handle. Chef wound up throwing a big jar of Chili oil in the welshman's face .

The Country Jamboree Pub. Used to be more Thia girls in there than Bangkok, but cheaper to fly to Bangkok. Why drink Bud when you can have Tiger beer. It was always interesting when Singapore immigration made their yearly raids.

Our oilfield hangout was Muddy Murphy's when it was across from Orchard Towers or you could sit at Harry's Bar in the back of OT and be entertained by the Queen of Singapore. You could also be entertained at Muddy's by sitting outside and watching the girls go to work in Orchard Towers or in some cases lady boys.

Muddy Murphy's was great. They always had that 70s/80s cover band there with the badass asian singer. And the old white guy guitarist.

I spent many of Exxon's dollars at Muddy Murphy's. It was a quality pub.

I can't imagine what a ghost town all of OT is these days. I feel bad for the girls. They are just trying to earn some money for their families.
