Man because of my summer travels I only have one chance to go to a home game, game 5.

Fingers crossed…. but that means I'm hoping they lose one lol.

Great win last night. Gotta keep TB on their heels and off the puck… hope the Avs start out hot again tomorrow night.

I know it won't be like actually being there, but our work bought a suite for the watch party at Ball for Wednesday. Will be my first time there.

Man I got an invite to the suite for game 5, but we tweaked our upcoming summer trip and are leaving Friday now.

Probably once in a lifetime to go to a possible Stanley Cup win in a suite!

I'm going camping this weekend with no cell service. Been booked for months. Who knew I needed to plan around hockey in late June!

Was in the suite last night for the watch party. That was pretty darn neat experience, even though the hockey wasn't in-person. Don't know that I've ever been in a suite that had a restroom before - that was sure convenient.

I don't mean to disrupt the NHL celebration, but I'm bringing my family of 5 to Denver for a long weekend. We're staying downtown. Kids are 10, 7, &2.

We're planning on RMNP, Denver Zoo, Denver Firefighters Museum, and Little Man Ice Cream. Any other "don't miss" activities?

Where's the best place to get Rockies tickets for Saturday night?

Todd, do you have reservations for RMNP yet?

Yes we do.

We're booked for RMNP and the Zoo already.

We move to Pittsburgh in 2013 - Pirates end 21 year playoff drought.

After a 12 month stint in Cali, move back to PGH in 2016 and the Pens win first of two back to back titles.

Now we're moving to Parker this week haha.

Sounds like this fall you and your family need to take one for the team (literally) and move to College Station.

I'm moving to Denver next month and am looking for thoughts on where to live. I see that there is a lot of that on this thread, but what I'm looking for may be more unusual than many.

I'll be working in LoDo and want to be 15 minute or less drive from there. I will be leasing, not buying, but do not want an apartment or condo style building. Looking for a single family home, or possibly a duplex. Since I'm leasing, I am not interested in transitional neighborhoods that will probably be nice in 5-10 years. It needs to already be nice.

I want a garage and at least 2 bed/2 bath, though room for a home office (especially a basement) in addition would be great. Open floor plan style is preferred.

Needs to be within walking distance (under a mile) from grocery store and some shops and restaurants and bars. My wife and I have been living a single vehicle lifestyle for over 5 years now, and are hoping to be able to stick with that. I drive to work most days and she works from home. Biking to some stuff a couple miles away is ok too, but the area would have to have good bike lanes, and that did not seem as prevalent as we are used to.

We did a quick drive around town recently after some Zillow research, and it seemed like West Highland (where there was a Sunday farmer's market and a bunch of local businesses on 32nd) or Country Club/Cherry Creek (still some local, but a lot more chains) were good possibilities.

Any ideas on other neighborhoods to focus on?

Thats a pretty tall order and laundry list. A budget would help narrow your options down.

That is fair. I'm coming from a much higher cost of living area, so if I can find something in the $3.5-4K range that would be great. I could go a little higher and be ok for the right place.

Ha, I'd do it (happily). The rib, not so much. We've got to win a title. We deserve the respect. I'm not sure how the old (old) army have held on this long.

I'm in Arvada near Olde Town and there's a rail stop here that runs to downtown. You can always bike to the rail and then bike around downtown, or take a scooter which are all over both areas. I love this area and $3k will get you a lot.

Highlands / Tennison / Sunnyside is another nice area that's come up and has lots of good shops, grocery stores, and areas to walk to and check it. It's not a bad bike ride downtown, as I've ridden thru there many times from Arvada.

My girlfriend lives in Glendale Village in a nice 2br apt with a garage and her and her roomie pay $2200 / mo. It's a great area next to many stores. Go a little further north and you get Cherry Creek which is a fun area.

https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/663-Grape-St-Denver-CO-80220/13394482_zpid/

Wash Park is a beautiful area and there's a lot of stuff nearby.

https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/470-S-Williams-St-Denver-CO-80209/13352182_zpid/

Last would be Edgewater near Sloan's Lake. The neighborhood near Joyride brewing is nice and that's a fun area as well.

This is a fantastic rundown. Thanks!

A couple of your links are places that I have favorited on Zillow to check out, but most of the spots are new areas for me to look into. This is great.

I'll be out there next week, so I'll check out the neighborhoods you recommended. I don't want to get tunnel vision on a specific neighborhood just because I drove through it and it seemed cool, so your different options are very helpful. Thanks!

there should be a southside meetup for people with kids. I'd love to go to a watch party at Sloans Lake but going all the way there with my 8yo isn't fun. Any places over here with a fenced in area to keep the kids busy?

wild goose saloon has a big 'play' yard with bean bag toss, jenga, etc and large tvs around. I just don't know if they cater to sports on weekends, I've only been there a few times in the summer on a friday afternoon. Their main draw is concerts/live music 3-4 nights a week.

I'd definitely try to go kid-less for the night games, and maybe even regardless of the time. Our 2 youngest (ages 4 and 2) are nuts right now. Agreed on Sloan's being too far. Seems like we could find a good central location between HR, Lone Tree, and Parker.

I just remembered Viewhouse too, at dry creek or so and 25.
They have a big outdoor play yard, and are def. sports centered.

How about all this July rain!?!?

This didn't happen the past few summers I've lived here, and the Texas-style thunderstorms and rain is a welcome treat! I didn't know Denver had a July monsoon season so this is pretty cool.
