We'll see. I'm not going to make any bold predictions.

Now that I've had more time to think about it, I'm really glad I went on a date with her. Got to her place at 7 that night and went home at 4. She was an absolute blast to hang out with and treated me like royalty. I was kind of skittish, hadn't had a date in a long time, but everything still worked out. She floored me pretty good, to the point that I thought I might have met my future. Talked to her again on Monday and she doesn't want to be exclusive with anyone or commit to that type of relationship. But I can't really be disappointed. If my first date in Denver worked out like that, I'm more than excited about what the future holds. So thanks again to her. I needed that.

good luck to you man. Not saying this is how it's going to work out. But i started talking to a girl in 2009 and it just felt good but she claimed she didn't want a serious boyfriend. About 8 months later we were engaged and now just celebrated 11 years of marriage this past April 8th.

That's awesome. I was in college in '09 as a junior at A&M. Too bad I didn't know how to play my cards right or really get out there at the time, although I had a decent social life and all that.

Couple of other things. This girl definitely lit a fire with me to get out there and get to know people. I'm definitely more motivated and finished with dragging my ass and not doing stuff.

I also got hurt a few weeks ago and the issue really came to light after doing what I did with her. So I called the VA on Monday and going to get some things looked at tomorrow.

Don't know if yall watch hockey but the Avs game tonight was insane. What a finish with a flury of shots, broken and flying sticks, and a game winner slapshot.

And the crowd was so loud and going crazy. Such a great game and the Nashville rookie goalie did great to keep then in it.

I'm awaiting my turn in the company suite

First two game was developers/brokers and our owners. It'll trickle down quickly lol, we're a small company.

Seeing as a second round is very possible, I may get a few turns in next round.

Wish it was cheaper. I looked online today and the cheapest seats are $108 a pop.

They certainly won't get any cheaper. Wife and I are already setting the budget for conference and cup finals tickets. Hoping this is the year!

He was in land acquisitions for a home builder, but just moved into a regional vp role for land operations for CO and TX. He spends a lot of time with local developers and brokers. Most of his buddies do commercial and residential stuff.

gotcha

We only work with a few repeat developers.. United properties, westfield, prologis, pauls corp, huntington.
That's 95% of our contracts right there.

Then it's newmark or cbre.

Might be a slightly different sector than your husband. We are exclusively industrial warehouse tilt up, with a multi story office thrown in about once every 5 years.

Are y'all staying super busy with work? I'm a civil engineer PM with a regional firm doing mainly traffic work and we have a ton of work everywhere.

I am debating transferring to my company's Denver office and wanted to get this board's opinion on areas to look at to live. My company's office is in North Capitol Hill, which I've heard is a pretty hip area?

Single guy with 2 dogs, currently living in Houston (Montrose) basically since I graduated in 2006

Really into hiking, mountain biking, and doing outdoors stuff. So I'd want to live somewhere that I can easily explore the outdoors more than experience night life; but I'll also be working M-F 9-5.

I'm not really sure if I want to buy or lease first since this is a pretty big move. My gut says to buy if I find something and the timing is right. I'd want to stick to under $700k, or $3k if renting.

Any advice is highly appreciated.

No I am INEN (which I think is ISEN now?).

But I'm in estimating so not really repping my degree lol.

I was a single guy living in Houston, also in Montrose off Alabama and 59 Spur. I moved because all my vacay was used for trips to Canada and Colorado. Now every weekend is a vacation.

I'm in Arvada by Olde Town and love it. $700k / $3k per mo will give you many options in great areas. Check out LoHi, South Broadway, Arvada, Golden, Tennyson / Highlands, RiNo to rent or buy. Wash Park is a nice area but very expensive. RiNo has lots of rentals but not much to buy.

Best country dancing and concerts at Grizzly Rose, live music everywhere, 4 seasons, mild winters, mountains to enjoy year round, off roading, hunting, fishing.

I agree on preferring to play St Louis.

The only Avs game I've been to this season was on MLK Day vs the Wild... shoot out win! It was glorious, though I was bummed the obnoxious Wild fan near us (she yelled "Let's Go Wild" well over 100 times as loud as she could) snuck out before anyone could have fun with her. It was center ice in my buddy's company suite.

Where's it at? I know he's playing at Seven Peaks but didn't know he was this week.

Are you going to the Luke Combs concert next weekend at Mile High? Should be a blast! Can't wait for that party.

Well we're finally to the week of our house hunting trip! Centering on Highlands Ranch, Parker, and Castle Rock. Seems like we'll have more options (up to 750K) in the latter two. Working in LODO. If anyone has thoughts on a Parker vs Castle Rock comparison, send them my way!
Schall 02

Are you going to be able to work remotely at all? Castle Rock to LoDo is a rough commute .

Yeah it's 3 days/week in the office with the ability to flex the time. Im thinking Parker (or HR) is likely the way to go, but I hear or read a lot about Castle Rock being more scenic, and it seems like you get more for the money there. I guess my main question is if we live in CR, is there much of a reason to leave on the weekends? I definitely like the proximity of Parker to everything.

Schools are also a priority (9, 4, 2 year olds), and we're Christian conservatives, so we'd lean towards a community that's more like that (as much as CO can be).
Schall 02

There are some large churches in the southern burbs a lot closer than Castle Rock. I'm sure the Highlands Ranch crew can chine in.

I think you'll find that people here live and let live. Texas is agitated about everything (politics, religion, traffic, beans in chili...) in ways that thankfully do not translate here. I blame the heat.
Schall 02

And FWIW, the views from Highlands Ranch (of downtown and mountains) beat any view in Castle Rock for my money.
