I've got 40 gallons of kegged beer, 120 12 oz beers, 50 bombers, 14 bottles of whisky, 4 vodka, 4 tequila, and some other incidentals.

You may be ready, but by the pictures posted 15 minutes after he announced it, lots of other day people weren't. It was the start of a disaster.

It's weird, I would think someone that places alcohol that high on their must have list, they would have been prepared weeks ago. Crazy to see that moment of panic when all of a sudden the public thinks they can't buy alcohol.

I think people are just in a state of panic right now. Plus, one month is not something people typically prepare for, at least we don't. We may buy a couple bottles of wine here and there, but since we can't get it in grocery stores around us, that'd be quite some time to go without it. Heck we've gone many months without drinking before, but it's not bad right now to unwind a little.

We honestly didn't have to buy much to get to what I typed up there. We already normally have about 75% of that. I've had a stocked beer fridge (~100beers) for 15 years now, and 3-6 kegs on tap (home brew and/or commercial) for 8 of the last 12 years. The liquor collection however has amassed just over the last 3-4 years.

How's everyone doing?

Dealing with it, like everybody. Minimal trips out of house for two+ weeks now. Business has slowed but is still maintainable. Trying to be a teacher, too, is tough.

But I finally have time to hot rod my kid's big wheel, so there's that.

working from home 5 days a week now instead of 3 so that isn't too bad. I still get outside just about every day to run and that helps.
My wife is a teacher so he has been getting all the remote learning stuff planned for her class and helping my kindergarten daughter with her stuff. That helps out a lot. My daughter is still liking doing the class stuff on the iPad because she thinks it's a game. She does miss her friends and teacher but she gets that there are "germs" that we are staying away from.

I'm in office still 3 days a week. We get take out on the weekends to support local restaurants and feel normal. We don't have a fence in our backyard between us and neighbors, so we sit in respective backyards and drink/socialize with them a few days a week. We both have kids under 5 and they all know to stay in their yards.

We need to get our backyard landscaped soon so we can do the same. Just a mud pit right now.

If Douglas county follows, I get my raise a bit sooner than anticipated; My 5 year old was going to be done with daycare in June, then he goes to full time kindergarten. My wife is DCSD, so she'd be home until summer which means I'm pulling him out as soon as they announce it.

He hasn't gone for 3 weeks as it is, but we're still paying just to support them, since I do have a 4 year old there as well, who needs it for another year.

I can smell that $1k a month!

We thought about that for our kids in daycare too.. My oldest won't see his friends again at all, and some of those friends have been with him since they were in the infant room. He won't see them again because I don't think any of his closer friends are on his school path, considering this daycare has students from spread out all over our town, and even out of town. So he would have had his goodbyes anyway... now it's just abrupt and earlier than expected.

We are considering letting him go back a few weeks in summer (assuming back to normal) so he can have proper goodbyes.

Your daughter will see all those friends again next year huh?

Our Kindergarten class is having 1-2 Zoom meeting a week just to keep social time active.

Parents are also setting up their own video/virtual play dates. It's strange, but the kids love it.

I'll probably pay off our small rec. trailer loan @ 7%. Then likely pay off wife's car @ 5%. Those add to 14k.

That's 14 months, which puts me to June 2021, at which point I get I another $1100 a month because my other kid will start kindergarten, plus the $350 from paid off vehicle loans.

Now it's $2500 a month extra which gives me a lot of options. I know the finish the basement savings will be aggressive, but 2 x ira will likely be in the cards.

This year and next will be my biggest raises in my career. It's been a long ~4.5 years since put our first in daycare.. man it will be nice to cut that check in half and then lose it all together next June.

We (Archdiocese of Denver) aren't far behind. Our K-8 school follows DCSD and Cherry Creek. Since they are closed, we will be as well shortly.

Yes, she'd be able to see them next school year. Guess it's more the fact she really liked her teacher so she'll miss out on a couple of months. Yes they've been doing some of the virtual groups and also she's writing letters to her friends.
