Are there any Ags on here that work in downtown Denver and commute in from the Evergreen area? We are thinking about moving to Denver in the near future and would like to live outside of the main city. Just wondering how viable of a commute that is on a daily basis.

Could be impossible in the winter.

Disregard what txag11 said. Just get a snowboard. Those boots are significantly more comfortable. Plus then you'd be a cool boarder instead of a lame duck skier. You'll thank me later.
Get a snowboard so you can perpetually be in everyone's way

Howdy y'all. My fiance and I are moving up to Colorado Springs the start of the year. We're trying to figure out if we should buy/rent, but more importantly trying to get a feel for the different areas. What areas should we avoid and what areas should we look at?

Can't wait to make the move and be up there!

Congrats. Just moved from the springs in August and miss it every day, especially now that ski season is on the horizon. I have a house in meridian ranch in falcon on the NE side that I'm renting out right now. I'm planning on moving back in about 3 years. It really depends on where you're working. One of the most surprising things about the springs that I discovered after moving there is just how spread out the town is. It can take you damn near an hour to get from one side of town to the other.

That's excellent to hear! We're really looking forward to it. Just trying to figure out the moving logistics and the job for me. How are the areas near Old Colorado City and South of 24/25? She'll be working on the south side near Fountain. Plus we both love the old craftsman style homes that can be found in those areas.

Old Colorado City is a cool little area. Houses are much older and smaller. Buddy of mine had an apt loft over there. Front Range BBQ is good for beer but their bbq is pretty ****ty. They also have a big street fair over there during territory days over memorial day weekend. From what I could always tell, the fountain/ft carson area can be hit or miss. There's quite a bit of crime in and around security/fountain from what I remember. I don't know a ton about that area down there as we lived up in Falcon but my wife worked on Ft Carson while we were there. it was a solid 45-60 min drive every morning for her depending on gate traffic. As for south of 24, obviously the Broadmoor area is awesome if you have that kind of money. There were some nice areas around the Cheyenne mountain area from what I could tell driving by.

Any Landmen here working in Denver area? I'm looking for a change. Currently working in Houston, but searching for new opportunities and interested in searching the Denver area. Have applied to Noble and Fourpoint in the last few days. Thanks!

Just a shameful plug- if any ags need to burn their epic pass guest passes this season feel free to let me know. Moved to Springs this fall and would be great to ski with some Ags. I just couldn't justify the pass cost this year due to some moving expenses and such we didn't anticipate.

I spent the weekend reading all 46 pages of this thread, and it only made me hope even more that I am able to land a position in the Denver area. Have been applying for any openings I can find (not many) and reaching out to recruiters. Have a phone call with one today!

I moved as soon as I landed a remote gig. Out of Houston in less than 30days including the house sale.

We just hit our one year mark. Fastest year of my life. What a blast.

May have said it before, but what kind of work?

So not exactly Denver...

But if you were asked to relo to Rangely, would you?

Or would you rather live in Meeker/other and make the commute?

Random question. Can anyone recommend any mechanic shops that do speciality work on classic cars/trucks? 1956 Chevy pickup needs attention.

Anyone have a connection at Noble in Denver or Greeley? They have a few Landmen openings there, and was hoping to find a contact.
Thanks!

I have an ag business degree from 2010 and some experience in accounting and logistics related work. The accounting job was at a coal mine and my current role is at a sugar beet operation in Montana. Looking for a better job and possibly in the Denver area. Any recommendations for someone like me? Four years in the military before college if it matters.

I would settle for anyone knowing a restaurant serving decent boiled crawfish.

My wife and I are looking to move into the Colorado Springs area. It seems impossible to find a job while living in Texas and it's sketch to move up with our savings and just hope to find something. Would anyone have advice on what I should do? I would honestly take a 10 dollar an hour job right now just to get up there.

Looking for FT or PT work in the Denver area.

I retired in December 2015 from a large engineering and construction company that was heavy in the process and power business. I spent 2016 acting as the GC to remodel our home in Bromfield.

I am looking to reenter the job market as I have a lot of skills and experience that could help a company.

I am open to opportunities outside the engineering and construction field as well.

Sadly, your best bet might be Pappadeaux's

Maybe try your luck at http://www.bayoubobs.com/ or http://www.thecrawlingcrab.us/

Otherwise import your own.

Many of them were shipped down to Houston when the price of oil collapsed.

I lived in Evergreen a few years ago and worked downtown. Was really not a problem. Took maybe 20 minutes in the morning, though I went early and 30 in the evening. There is also a direct bus from Evergreen to downtown.

That's what we did.. why is that sketchy? That's called making it happen.

Took us less than about 10 weeks to both find jobs (did some fun mountain excursions in the interim), and wife even did a complete 180 in her career (3 years later, she went back)

Sounds like you're just making excuses!

Is there such a thing as decent crawfish? It's one of the few things that I don't like... too much work for something that does not taste very good.
