I could have sworn it was the duck pin bowling and a random internet friend's couch that convinced you.

Couldn't have said it better. I came out here for a week last May and haven't left. Grabbed a contract engineering gig for a year and on to a permanent position in Golden. I'll never move back to Texas willingly.

If you want, you can send me your resume and I can forward it on. My girlfriend works for a recruiting company in the HR department and they place contractors and also do full time hires. They opened an IT recruiting department about 6 months ago as well. Not sure if it would lead to anything or not, but it wouldn't hurt. My email is kbarron002@gmail.com if you want to sent it.

Does anyone know where I can buy quality meat in the denver area? I moved up from DFW and am looking for something like Central Market. Specifically stuff like prime brisket, quality pork shoulders, spare ribs, different types of sausage, etc....

The Whole Foods up here are not impressive from a meat standpoint.

Just found this thread and finished reading the 33 pages. I'm commenting so I can look back on it next year and also get some pointers when it starts getting closer.

I'm recently married and my wife and I are hoping to fulfill our dream and leave DFW sometime around March next year. I just recently took a job that will allow me to transfer to Denver pretty easily. Hopefully by this time next year, yall will have two more Aggies living the dream!

Good luck bud! Every weekend is a vacation and Denver is a pretty awesome city. From the mountains/outdoors and the beer, to the progressive culture and politics, it is all leagues above what Texas is to me.

If anyone wants a quick getaway to beautiful Breckenridge, I have a suite available at the Grand Lodge on Peak 7 for two nights - check in 10/14 and check out 10/16.
Assuming you are from CO, you know about Breck and everything to do in the fall.. so I'll leave that part out.

The suite is 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom with kitchenette and sleeper sofa, so its sleeps 4 comfortably.

List price from the Lodge is $330 for those two nights. I'll do $200 for.
Payment due in full at time of booking. This is during fall break for Douglas county schools, possibly other districts.

Hello Ags, class of '11 here. I'm 2 months from completing my MBA with a concentration in healthcare. I have 3+ years in market/strategy development, sales, and provider relations. I'm curious if anyone has any leads on job opportunities in the Denver area in the healthcare field. Thank you for any help you can provide. Gig 'em!

Hello Denver Ags - I am currently looking for a job in and around Denver area. Currently work in oil and gas drilling operations for a service company in the Rockies region. Looking to move out of the field into a job where I am home nightly or more often or based in Colorado as currently live in Denver area. Field operations experience in oil and gas and engineering degree.

Open to all industries, currently looking in oil and gas, engineering - construction land development, plant operations etc. Office job would be great. Ideal job would be operator type position for a plant such as chemical plant or Coors beer facility. Or I would not mind a field engineering type job if I am home daily or atleast weekly. Or oil and gas services or field services if you have a schedule or home daily even if long hours I would have no problem with.

Any leads or contacts in Denver area would be appreciated. Email address is ryan1702 at Hotmail.

Have a lead on a metro-area company hiring (details below). Private message or email me for particulars if interested.

Hiring for a Controller position in Colorado's rapidly growing oilfield infrastructure space. Company is an entrepreneurial, high-growth, private-equity backed company that will be deploying quite a bit of capital over the next two years.

Flying in with the wife for a long weekend and looking for thoughts on my itinerary. We have a rental car as well. We like outdoors stuff, good food, fun drinks. Interesting photo opportunities is pretty appreciated. Not averse to anything, really. We may even play the dispensary game. Haven't decided.

Anyway, I'd genuinely appreciate any suggestions.

FRIDAY (ARRIVE AND CONCERT DAY)
Breakfast @ DJ's or Jelly (or other suggestions)
10A - Scooter rental for general shenanigans and sight seeing while the hotel room is readied
Late Lunch/Early dinner @ Stubben's (locked in for this one as it's my favorite place in the city)
Hotel to rest up and shower
To Morrison for The Avett Brothers at Red Rocks
Back to Hotel for a night cap

SATURDAY (NIGHT OUT IN THE CITY)
Brunch (need a location for this one)
Scenic drive up Mount Evans, maybe play with a mountain goat
(NO IDEAS; Maybe head over to Great Divide, maybe go to the Denver Mint)
Dinner at Guard & Grace
(NO IDEAS; need a cool spot for drinks and relaxing)

SUNDAY (ESTES PARK)
Breakfast
Drive to new hotel in Estes Park
Hiking around (need some good trails, hikes, etc. Thinking about Gem Lake. Nothing too strenuous, nothing too easy)
No plans other than enjoying a nice Rocky Mountain sunset with bottle of wine.

We fly out around 1 on Monday.

Closed from Echo Lake to the summit (about 15 miles) until sometime late this month.

I'd suggest possibly substituting Trail Ridge Road from the Granby area into RMNP if you can make that work with your itinerary. Would be a fun way to come in Estes Park.

On fun places to drink downtown - I really like the upstairs bar at the remodeled Union Station. It's got a restaurant style wait list, but there's also a bar and fun people watching downstairs while you wait.

Saturday brunch: (1) Eat at D'Corazon on Blake (get the Carnitas... best Mexican plate I've had outside of the Rio Grande Valley); (2) walk across the street & have margs at Rio Grande; (3) Fresh Craft is on the same block.

Saturday night: If you don't hit up Fresh Craft earlier in the day, you could have drinks here & have drinks/Diiner at Euclid Hall.

On drive to Estes Park, you could stop at Oskar Blues restaurant in Lyons & get a Chub Burger. Or you could stop in Longmont and hit up Left Hand.

Mt Evans is one of the few things in Colorado that has been underwhelming. I went once & felt like it was highly overrated/waste of time. Much better scenery at RMNP.
