If I do move to Denver, any Ags up for going in on a weekend warrior ski house rental for next winter in the North/Central mountains? Epic Pass resorts...

Not sure if I'll be able to, but I'd definitely consider it. I have baby #2 on the way this summer, and I'm hoping to start my daughter on skiing next year (she'll be 29 months when the season starts).

I appreciate the tips guys. I've been in Colorado a few years now, but have never lived in Denver. Hoping to catch some Ag games with y'all in the fall.

Anyone played Cherry Hills CC? I work with a girl who's a member. It looks really nice from the road.

No, but I hope to play there some day. They are a hosting a PGA event in 2014. It is a FedEx event, so Tiger will be there. Can not wait.

Oh wow, didn't know it was that nice. Her family is loaded though so I guess not that surprising. What's good and cheap? I heard there were some pretty cool courses in the foothills.

Proud - I live in the Vail Valley. I see that you're a landman per your profile. I have a Master's in Real Estate and have always wanted to work in O&G, but only have experience in pure commercial real estate to this point. Do you know of any opportunities I should look into around Denver?

TauChi21,

Cherry Hills has hosted multiple major championships, as well as the US Am last summer. Arnold Palmer won a major at Cherry Hills; I believe it was a US Open.

Also, Ben Hogan won about 3 miles away at Wellshire, which is a City of Denver course.

There are a lot of great options here, many of which are in the $30-55 range. What part of town are you in? As far as city-owned courses, I like several Denver courses (City Park, Wellshire, Willis Case) and Aurora courses (Meadow Hills, Saddle Rock, and Murphy Creek).

zmurda- Let me think about it. It's pretty hard to become an in-house landman without working in the field for a couple years or being right out of school with a PLM degree.

Understood Proud. I'm willing to take a step back to change industries/roles at this point, so I'm willing to go into more of an entry-level position to start a new career path as well. Most of my search thus far for Denver jobs has been for jobs that would require an industry change. We did study land and mineral rights, deeds, etc. in the Real Estate program at A&M.

I think I'm in the Highlands. Not sure. I can walk downtown.

In that case, I recommend City Park, Hyland Hills (Westminster), and Willis Case for courses within 10-15 minutes. Just a little further away are Wellshire, Meadow Hills, and even Fox Hollow.

Thanks. If anyone would like to have a Texags golf outing in a month or so, I'm down.

I wanna play golf. I was at driving range on Easter and it's the same thing every time: about 1 out of 5 swings is nice and far and straight. I guess if I did it more than once every couple years that would improve.

Hey guys! I'm looking around Baker/Highlands/northeast Platt Park. Trying to stay near 25, but close to some restaurants and maybe a little nightlife.

Still in Lone Tree for the moment though!

Muster was solid. Enjoyed hearing RC Slocum speak. After being asked if he thought we would play Texas in the near future he said "we have been singing good bye to the orange and the white for a while, and I see it being that way for a while" or something to that effect.

What's happening, Denver Ags?

Any summer trips planned, new golf courses played, new restaurants or bars tried?

For those who are new to Denver, I highly recommend the Cherry Creek Market on Saturday mornings. It's in the parking lot of Cherry Creek Mall, at University and Speer. Great fruit and veggies, as well as a ton of food options (breakfast, lunch, pastries, and dessert). Also, the scenery is very nice.

I also recommend Southern Hospitality, a newish restaurant in downtown. They have 90 bourbons, about 10 beers on tap, and the food is outstanding. I had a sandwich with brisket, pulled pork, bacon, cheese, and pickles. My wife had a burger with pulled pork, slaw, and fried pickles.

I guess I'll have to start the Minneapolis branch of the finer things club. We may need a national meeting a couple of times a year in Vegas.
