Wanting to take a four or five night trip from IAH to somewhere (except Cancun) where she and I can spend time on white sand beach, perhaps snorkel and enjoy quiet. Hopefully for less than 5K. Interested in boutique hotels, not mega resorts. Would be nice if there were some nice, fun restaurants nearby, or if the hotel were all inclusive. I know there are probably tons of options out there, but honestly I've been looking for this for the past month and they're all starting to run together.

I know some of y'all travel a lot and may have suggestions I haven't found or thought of, so this is kind of a shot in the dark…….It's a surprise 40th wedding anniversary trip for my wife, so thank you in advance

No specific suggestion for a location, but for boutique hotels, search Relais and Chateaux and Small Luxury Hotels of the World for beach properties and see if anything strikes your fancy.
