Global Entry is now free for kids. I just got one for my kiddo.

You cannot use your existing email, you have to create a whole new account. It will ask for your KTN when you go through the process. It took me about 5 minutes from beginning to end, just needed the info from the kids passport.

Do you still have to take the kid in for an appt and photo? Or does this somehow just piggyback off of your own GE?

I used mobile passport when we got back from Mexico this summer.. skipped the whole line and was directed to the global entry line.

No cost, and no inconvenient verification appointment.

So can I create a new account using a different email address and then get both my kids Global Entry with that account?

Or do I need to create an account for each kid (i.e. my kids need email addresses)?

I'm setting a reminder to grab my kid's passports and complete this later this week.

I'm going to guess one for each account. You could always try to see if you can add someone after the first one. I just know I couldn't add her to mine, the only options were to apply for other types of services.

Dang it, I just got my 13 y/o GE and paid $100. She had to do the interview. We did it at SAT. Had the card within 3-4 biz days.

I think I am going to do this for us, then the Enrollment on Arrival at IAH. I guess we just bring our conditional approval? All three of us will be together.

I arrived at IAH Friday at 1530 from Frankfurt. Passport control took 5 minutes, claimed my bags and walked out to my car.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it's still on the list.

That's where we'll be arriving from also! Not until January though.

Yes. They have a special line for the "interviews" in immigration.

They should just automatically include the kids with global entry parents on the same interinary like pre-check

I have GE and my son doesn't. Last year in Chicago, when I got in the GE line, an agent noticed we were separating and waived him through. He actually got through faster than I did. He was 18 at the time (and looks older), so I wasn't expecting anyone to care we were separated.

But I know you can't count on that at every airport.

I have also used the Mobile Passport Control app, and it was great. At the time, I didn't know if I was being allowed/invited to use it because I have GE. Sounds like that's not a requirement.

Thanks! I think it's worth it as I already have a couple of international trips planned soon.

So an interview is required. My kiddo has been conditionally approved. Not bad - 2 days from time of submission.

This is the ultimate international travel hack. So glad it's been a well kept secret.

I get through faster than global entry

Often at DFW, mobile passport goes in the flight crew line, so shorter than Global Entry.

Same. I got approved within 2 days. And now I have to figure out when I'm going to manage to take my child to in for an interview. Seems excessive...

We will just do it next time we come back in the country. I'm not taking a day of vacation to do it.

It sure is frustrating that my wife got her conditional approval within 24 hours and my wait is on week 3. We were hoping to schedule interviews during her thanksgiving break.

And there is no help desk or support to call that I can find. I sent an email inquiry and it said my wait could take up to a year. WOW! This is a $120 scam. What's the point in even doing it?

I guess my wife will do her interview upon arrival and just one of us will have it.

Typical government.

I applied a couple months ago and my wife applied about 2 weeks ago. Both of us were conditionally approved within 1 day of applying and had our appointments less than a week after that. Final approvals came less than 10 minutes after the appointment.

My interview guy said that approvals can take months for some people, but the majority see it in less than a day. He had no explanation as to why some take significantly longer than others.

When I did it, the appointments were temporarily at an office building near IAH due to construction. My wife had to do it at IAH. My appointment was a breeze. Hers was a PITA due to parking.

That's the bummer. We have a trip coming up, and would have liked to both had GE. And there is no way for me to even check my application, see if there is a question, or if I did something incorrect. You simply just cannot inquire. So you are left waiting…while the rest of the family is good.

I found an email address to reach out and ask. I find it incredibly suspect that my wife was approved in 24 hours, and I'm still in limbo after a month. No point in doing an application for the kid until we are both approved.

I got this response from my email inquiry. Totally helpful…NOT! Stuff like this makes me hope Trump will fire everyone that works for the government and start over. The turnaround on this should be 24 hours. They know everything about us anyway. If they have a question, they should send an email asking it rather than sitting on an application for up to 14 months.

This is why people HATE the government.
