Check the Caprock Canyons Facebook page. We did a very cool tour along the rails to trails to see the bat flight. They will do the same drive when the cottonwoods turn yellow

We stayed in the permanent tent 'glamping' a little while back.

I was taken totally by surprise when they fired the canon.

Holy **** that was loud in the canyon.

But the fireworks were awesome.

I don't recall a cannon. But there is a "thunderstorm" that is simulated by the sound track, and lights flickering along the rim of the canyon.

Oh, and 500 feet of det cord going off to simulate a lighting bolt. That was your cannon. Too bad you weren't outside, you could have seen it from there, easily.
