Thinking about going to Vegas in early August for an anniversary getaway. Neither my wife or i have been. She's not a gambler and I'm a cheap ass banker, so looking for recommendations on food, shows, must see places.

Sounds like you need to go somewhere else then. Vegas isn't for the cheap.
Lol - still cheap though.jja79 said:

There's a great steakhouse at the Cosmo. I'm sure there are other great ones at other hotels too. Very wide, excellent restaurant selection, you can't really go wrong especially if you dine at the nicer hotels like Wynn, Aria, Bellagio, and Cosmo.cgh1999 said:
Let me clarify, I'm not going to spend hours at the table. I will gamble, but was looking for recommendations on the other items. Not afraid to spend money on a good meal, or good show. Just not going for something just because it's trendy.
Well that's not encouraging. Hopefully he's changed since then.dodger02 said:
My advice is to get absolutely hammered before seeing Criss Angel. Hopefully, you'll pass out within avout 5 minutes of the show starting. That's the worst show I've seen in LV.
He half-assed the whole show and berated the audience all night. I'd guess 15% of the audience left early. Admittedly, this was '08 or so.

Take your wife and stay at the Cosmo and get the rooms that face the belagio fountain
Shows - Michael Jackson Circus show was amazing
Those rooms are also great for drone flights over the strip. Pretty much our go-to option until someone else comes up with something better.David_Puddy said:78669AG said:

This for sure.
Me & my lady are heading out there tomorrow night. I get comped rooms at the Cosmo and the wing facing the Bellagio is great for watching the fountain show.

Then we grab a few roadies and just walk the strip and take in life's parade.

Wife and I are also laid back and cheap but like to people watch and generally have a good time. A trip to Vegas starts with an uber to an off strip grocery store to stock up on liquor, beer, and wine. Then we grab a few roadies and just walk the strip and take in life's parade.
