Thinking about that Burger play last night. With 2nd base unoccupied, I'm using my pitcher as the cut man and having my 3rd baseman back up home. If there's a man on first, my LF is jogging toward 3rd in case the man on first tags and goes to 2nd. With no cutoff, the proper play is to quickly throw a one-hopper to the catcher, but with a cut man he can make a hard 80 foot throw.

We were comparing Houston and Texas - two teams both in a similar playoff situation.

St. Louis has been out of the playoff chase since July. They are completely irrelevant to the conversation.

Two years ago they averaged almost 36,000. Was downtown StL safe enough for everyone then?

Taking my 4 year old daughter to the game tonight (her first one this season) with my dad. Probably will be lots of ice cream and not a lot of baseball, but I hope she has fun! Some of my favorite memories growing up happened across the street at the old ballpark with my dad, brothers, and granddad

I just can't believe, that with 5 games remaining, we are hanging on every pitch and AB of a team that is sub .500, hoping we can still make the playoffs. This is a crazy feeling.
