Didn't bother keeping track of the game last night and was not surprised at all to wake up and see the score. With the lockout looming, I'm wondering how different this entire organization will look whenever play does resume? I have to think that CY's tenure is tenuous, and surely Skip's seat is as well. There's so much roster reconstruction that needs to happen and I don't trust the current bunch to do it correctly.

This was a big topic around this forum last season and in the off season. Nothing much changed as far as the hitters. Nimmo was a good addition and Joc has come around this year. Seager, when healthy is looking better. Duran looks good, but seems to be cooling off a little.

So less than 40% of our position players can consistently hit a ball or get on base. Again, not a new problem. Boone was brought in last year and nothing really changed. Time to shake it up and get some new blood in here in 2028.

Seager is the only bat that is hitting way below his career numbers.

It's just not that potent an offense, never was -- it's why we made the Gore move and tried to shift to rotation being our strength.

Not to sound like a broken record but: O'Hoppe 1/4 plus a BB last night and Walcott 2/4 with a double and a BB.

Lopez, Diaz, Wynns, Bride, and Kelenic are scrubs (5). Guys we picked up off the heap during the season. FAs. Minimum Wage.

Nimmo, Pederson, and Seager are your only producers.

I don't know what the answer is, but we have a talent problem. Lopez and Diaz had a good run, but ultimately, they are pieces-parts that can easily be dropped. We HAVE changed players.

Semien, Lowe, Adolis, Leodys, Heim. All guys we dumped who presumably had good defense but struggled Offensively. Replaced with Josh Smith, Burger, Nimmo, Carter, and HIggly/x/y/z. Duran is replacing Jung and then LF and SS remain. So, 2 position spots have carried.
