Assumption on my part. Clearly no idea how your pay structure works but I'd think if it drags on, people are annoyed with it all, less games, etc would have some impact?

Being an Aggie and DFW sports fan can be really tough at times. Thank goodness for 2023.

You know what Mr Gigem does for a living, don't you?

Good thing there is always "next year."

You just have to look harder. Women's volleyball and tennis are pretty good options. Some HS football teams can be good (but, it's weird if your kids don't go to that school). Other than that, hope for the Stars to have another good season.

If we had played even just two or three games against two of the worst teams in baseball, these last two series wouldn't have mattered. And I think that's what makes the way the season ended feel even worse.
Oh well. I'll give myself the rest of the day to feel bad and then put it in the rearview tomorrow.

Houston could play the win this game, win that game thing too …. this team never deserved to be in the playoffs.
The Rangers force DFW to eat a full decade of dog**** outside of one lucky season. It's completely unacceptable but nobody in the franchise will do anything about it. The stay positive and always support your team culture must go. Evan tried really hard the other day to write mean words about Degrom but it was halfhearted. It laughably came right after a positive spin article about Skip.
Media won't go scorched earth, fans won't do an Arkansas boycott, so we are stuck with this indefinitely.
There is zero accountability for the front office, the players, or the scouting /player development program. To say it plainly, nobody cares.

SEA has fired Dan Wilson after just two full seasons.
Looks like they are serious about trying to win.

I don't disagree but going from 90 wins and the ALCS to just 76 wins and a 3rd place finish in a dog**** division, I can understand the front office looking at a change. They have offered him a job within the organization.
Sure, the next guy could be worse but I respect an organization believing they can do better.

This was a team that was picked to finish 3rd in the division. They finished 80-82, in 2nd place.
I get being upset about the roster construction and development, but I guess I just don't see any blatant malpractice this year like you saw in the truly bad years.
We should've spent about $20MM more to shore some things up and cast off your Burgers and Pedersons, but for the most part the team failed this year because guys you were counting on had massive dips (Seager, Langford, deGrom), not because the roster was mis-managed or mis-constructed.
If Langford, Seager and deGrom give you what they did just last year, that +6.2 WAR and a 86-76 team that is the #2 seed.
And the latter two aren't your Adolis-Garcia-esque or Jonah Heim type players that had career years last year. They had production well within their historical norms. And Wyatt was our #1 draft pick that most still think will be a very good player so in no world were you going to start the season without him in the lineup.
