I have a bottle. Got it at Total Wine. Haven't opened it yet.

Bought a bottle from a small place near Fredricksburg the other day. 100 of single barrel. It's a mixer not a drinker. I'm trying to use it all up so I don't have to drink it any more.

With that blown save, Munoz's 7th on the season, his ERA sits a mere .03 better than Abreu's after his own blown save.

4.47 to 4.50

Just an interesting comparison.

(Didn't check until I hit post, that was Abreu's first blown save on the year, he's had fits in other situations of course - weren't many leads period during his early struggles)

As much as we hate on Joe Espada, he's managed a team to a 2.5 game lead with a lineup which is league average at best, a starting rotation full of non-strike throwers and no HB for half the season, and a bullpen who had their 8th inning guy go MIA for half the season and their closer on the IL the first half.

It's not just the ALW. The ALC is just as bad with only CWS above .500 and there are only 5 teams in total in the AL above .500

Do yourself a favor if you haven't in a while, go back and watch the 2017 Astros postseason highlights. What a time.

I just did, and saw Josh Reddick go ahead RBI single off Kimbrel in the 8th at Fenway (Game 4) and it was nearly identical to Varsho's tonight.

I know. But even in the ALC, they wouldn't be leading. (They'd be in fourth in the ALE).

I'm going to enjoy this one tonight as much as anyone, just saying a 63-60 record is not Manager of the Year stuff.

Fair, but you could argue this team has no business even being over .500 from a talent perspective. Seems like half the team has been full of players who have been DFA'd several times in their career.

With all the bad teams in the AL we could be headed to a 6 seed who is under .500. Right now Detroit is 2 games under in that spot.

Wouldn't be the first time. We were under 0.500 in 2020. I think the twins were too in either 17 or 19 and lost to the Yankees in the one game playoff

I take a Friday off to take my daughter to see Spider-man 4 and miss:

  • Miracle Astros finish (I saw the last inning, but I refused to post to not jinx the comeback)
  • New X-Men cast announced
  • New Doomsday trailer
  • Ahsoka season 2 trailer
  • Starfighter footage
But Jessica always approves. And the friggin' Rangers, LOL. A's were 9-36 in their last 45 coming into tonight.
