I've been down on Joe all season but with the recent turnaround I have to give him credit. The Phillies and Red Sox changed managers and turned their seasons around, but Joe has stayed the course and believes in his players. I just hope that the winning and positive vibes results in winning the division or at minimum a wild card spot.

In two games Yainer Díaz has gone from a .637 to .714 OPS

Went to the Sugar Land Space Cowboys game tonight. The Angels AAA squad is no better than their majors. A dropped running catch in left with 2 outs in the 9th allowed the tying run to score and a passed ball in the 10th allowed the winning run to score. Saw Shewmake dressed out, but he didn't play. Roa had a pretty solid inning in relief.

I am not trying to do the taboo thing of jinxing a no hitter by mentioning it, but has anybody done a comparison of what our season record is when CharleyKerfeld is doing HOFA/TOFA/AOFA versus our record before he restarted or when he takes a night off from it? I am starting to have the sneaking suspicion that that magnificent ******* is making a meaningful difference…

What about Varsho for Blubaugh and either Santa or Uilela? Is this reasonable ?

If you could get them to bite on King rather than the other 2 that would be even better but I doubt it. King is "procen" at this level for sure but less upside imo. I suppose that weakens a strength for the remainder of this year … maybe.

I say all of this because the Astros do seemingly have a knack for developing mid to set up relievers out of thin air. Also understand Uliela has good future starter potential .

I also understand Hecor is available in a bullpen pinch

Also I have no doubt a reliable SP would be more important for a true WS run but I just don't see it in the cards. Adding some offense with no drop off on defense seems more realistic to me.
