To be 20-22 on the road after the miserable start to the year is pretty incredible. Too bad the good record at home disappeared

That's about right for a game with few hits and base runners.

probably need an OF bat worse than an arm to be honest… we have viable options in the rotation. Not so much in the OF.

Between the 90 starters coming off the IL, a couple of them should work out, a bat is a must.

the Yankees and Rays are the 2 best teams in the American League no question

however due to playoff seeding...they will be forced into an ALDS matchup -- the #1 vs. the #4/#5

so the AL West champ has a fairly manageable path to the ALCS

Say what you will about Walker's offense going south in the month of June, but his defense is superb. That double play he turned in the ninth inning was possibly a game saver.
I've always been an advocate of having solid pitching and defense to win ball games, and Walkers defense helps overcome his offensive stats in my opinion. If I were Dana I wouldn't trade him now that the team vibe is really positive right now.
It seemed to all change when Hader and Brown came back.

I checked the score twice. Once when we were getting perfect gamed and the second time to see Joey Baseball and Trammel get pinch hit for.

But a win is a win, and Jessica approves.

I know draft talk isn't big here but this new 5 for 5 rule could have some interesting impact. College juniors now have a lot more leverage since they will have 2 years of eligibility remaining (plus NIL's making college more competitive). Historically a lot of juniors go in those 3-10 rounds because they are considered easier signs than high school players. I'm not so convinced that will be the case anymore, especially once you get past the 5th or 6th round or so where the slot amounts get down to a couple hundred k. Teams are going to need to do their due diligence moreso than ever and may wind up taking more high schoolers simply because side the sign ability risk gap is shrinking between the two demographics.
