I was adamant that Bregman needed to be in Houston or Boston to finish his career if he wanted to make a run at the HOF. But this year, it doesn't look like an issue. Savant has him hitting only 4 HRs in Houston based on this year's hits.
Bregman never had elite tools when it came to speed, bat speed, exit velos, etc. He was a savvy hitter who didn't K a bunch, took his walks, and pulled the ball for cheap home runs. He's kind of always lived on the margins post-2019. When the walks tick down just a little and the strike outs tick up and the little power he had drops bit, he goes from good player to bad player quickly.
I do think long-term Wrigley is a bad spot for him. He constantly tinkers with the swing. I think he tinkered the wrong way, not too dissimilar from what he did back in 23 or 24 (I forget which season). I don't think he's done, but I also think his ceiling will continue to lower as he ages and plays in the windy city.
