I am sure he is exhausted from running the bases in front of his old teammates like that. He will need a day or two to rest.

A's just lost; Rangers lost earlier. We're back to 1 game out of being tied for 2nd with those other 2 losers.

Just looked at the schedule and noticed we'll be done with the Silver Boot Series a few days after the Trade Deadline at the beginning of August. Also, with two four game sets early against the Ms, only five games against them (3H in Aug, 2R in Sept).

Sept. could be a buzzsaw. Over a two week period we get home vs. D-Backs, @ Phillies, @ Rays, (home vs. Royals) and home vs. Braves to round it out. Followed by the season ending jag at Seattle and Sacramento. I wanna say it's better they're in Cali vs. Las Vegas with respect to the moon ball.

I was brainstorming outfielders we could add at the deadline, and here is who I came up with. I am limiting this to players on bad teams, who could be available and wouldn't cost the farm.

1. Jung Hoo Lee

• 134 wRC+, he's overachieving right now but even his xwOBA is above league avg at .334.
• He's 27 and entering his prime
• He's overpaid and still owed 64 M after this year, meaning he should be available.
• He's under control for 3 more seasons if he doesn't opt out after 27.

2. Jo Adell

• 86 wRC+, ideal buy low candidate with his xwOBA 20 point higher than his wOBA plus he flashed greatness last season.
• Another one that's 27 and entering his prime.
• Only 1 season left so the Angels might as well sell before his value is limited next season when he's just a rental.
• He'll cost something, but it'll be a fraction of what it would have cost last year or last offseason.

3. Jarren Duran

• 67 wRC+ and there is nothing in the metrics says he's underperforming.
• He is sucking, so therefore he should be available, right?
• Why do we want him if he's hit worse than Loperfido & Smith? Buy low candidate because we've seen an awesome ceiling in 2024 and still good seasons in 23 and 25.
• This is my least likely name of the ones listed because the Red Sox leadership his no idea what they're doing and overvalue their players.

4. JJ Bleday

• 135 wRC+ and the batted ball data matches.
• Very up and down career, but I'll gladly take some of that up.
• Won't be free, especially since he's not making money, but also won't cost you crazy prospects.
• Don't let the fact we could have signed him for nothing in the offseason scare you away.

Lee's opt-out in '27, not to mention the uncertainty of baseball next summer, makes him a very risky trade candidate. I'd also think the Giants would want talent return over payroll relief.

Adell doesn't have the best glove, but his arm strength is above average. I'd say a reshuffled outfield, such as Adell in RF, with some LF/CF combo of Cam/Matthews/Loperfido/Trammell, is a net gain with the elimination of Meyers.

Hell, Cedric Mullins might offer more than Meyers. At least he actually plays fast as opposed to just being fast.
