Checked the score to see the Yankees break it open. I thought, hmmm no way Joe went to Sousa again in a tight game.

Yep.

Not firing Joe on Monday now rearing its ugly head

He'll be the manager until this year completely ends without a playoff berth. Crane doesn't care.

The entire inning was shot when NY ****ed us on that review. Changed everything. Sousa likely gets Rice, then Garcia grounds out for a 1-2-3 inning

That's a stretch. His stuff isnt fooling anyone
Not really a stretch. Almost K'd Rice and then got a weak rollover ground ball on Garcia

Lol. Almost k? You mean because he got a 2 strike count? How many 2 strike counts has he had this inning? And defensive alignment would have been the exact same on the weak rollover grounder.
Stayed alive twice barely on great breaking pitches and then also two good takes just out of the zone. And Walker is playing deeper if it's 2 out with nobody on.

Sousa sucks but it's okay to admit the inning is completely different if NY doesn't screw us on the review

The guy went out for more than 1 inning yesterday and he leaves him in for nearly 30 pitches in a tie game and let's him give up 4+ runs. That is managerial malpractice and more likely sabotage
sabotage? Some of you guys are funny…

Wonder if Bagwell told Crane to let Joe finish the season… for reasons. Those are humans in the clubhouse, you know.

My wife is putting our kiddo down so she's just getting the score alerts…she texts me "Is this Sousa?"

I think Crane needs to start using his executive authority to block bullpen usage

Put Joe on a leash just like he did with Dana

Joe has like a -20 game WAR this season with his low IQ nonsense

It's a huge stretch…Sousa hasn't gotten lefties out all year, but Joe decides to put him out there against all lefties. Wtf did he think was going to happen.

In his last 7 outings, Sousa's ERA is 12.15.

But let's keep trotting him out there in high leverage situations

This whole division is about to be under water. It's so so bad. And some crappy team is going to get a home playoff series out of it. Not that it will help.

Hey we get another playoff game against Gerrit Cole to get back to .500 tomorrow.

And another walk. And they score.

This needs to be a different staff all the way around next year.

Classic Joe giving Yainer the day off after his best game of the year

This is the type of s*it that infuriates me. Dude obviously sees the ball well at that stadium and he gives him the night off...just ridiculous especially with our hot/cold offense.

Does he schedule guys with days off months in advance and doesn't alter them except due to injury? It's just dumbfounding. I went ahead and put $50 on the Yanks out of spite.

Well at least I made $50. F*** you Espada.

I'm sure Espada made much more the way he managed that game

Our bullpen usage strategy makes zero sense…no rhyme or reason. Guys' roles change from game to game. Dude has no clue. Should have been let go before Dana.

He is allowing a .324 BA and .807 OPS with a 2.13 WHIP to LHH in 2026. But lets keep running him out there against them.

Guys, you don't understand....

You need to study the stats on the back of the baseball card.

Lefty vs. righty matters. Not analytics. Well, the left vs right is analytics, but not that kind of analytics.

Well you see, it's about the eye test and what's going on in the game. And stats don't matter at that point it's stats the vibe is.

And you can't put a number on a vibe. I mean, you can. But this is different....

I wish a media member would slam Espada in a presser with actual stats when it comes to Sousa, giving Yainer a day off after last night (and an off day Monday) plus pinch hitting for Cam

All 3 idiotic decisions

I think 16-13 finish would clinch it. Anything worse than that and it's very dicey. Having the tie breaker might be the difference

Looking at the remaining schedule, the difficulty looks very similar for both Houston and Texas.

Houston 2 @ Mariners (2-9 against) / Texas 3 @ Mariners (7-3 against) - advantage Texas due to current record against

Houston 4 @ A's (4-5 against) / Texas 3 vs A's (4-6) - advantage Texas due to home field

Houston 3 @ Mets / Texas 3 vs Mets - advantage Texas

Houston 3 vs DBacks / Texas 3 @ DBacks - advantage Houston

Houston 3 @ Rays / Texas 4 vs Rays - slight advantage Texas

Houston 3 vs Braves (78 wins) / Texas 3 vs Blue Jays (65 wins) - advantage Texas

Houston 4 vs White Sox (2-1 against) (70 wins) / Texas 3 vs Red Sox (1-2 against) (73 wins) - slight advantage Houston)

Houston 3 vs Royals (59 wins) / Texas 3 @ Twins (64 wins) - advantage Houston

Houston 3 @ Phillies (74 wins) / Texas 3 @ Brwers (82 wins) - advantage Houston

The whole concept of comparing schedules is useless with this team because we play up and down to the level of our competition. You'd be better off using the percentage of sliders and sweepers the team throws out of the strike zone as a proxy for losses by us. We have proven we can't hit those pitches and any team that can throw them consistently will beat us pretty handily.

Mariners have an extremely breezy schedule though.
