Yes, we are are currently in first place, but you can see how we've been trending the last few years.

I think Crane only approves of trades that bring former Astros back. Nostalgia addiction

I'd love to hear more, too. Jim can't be thinking we're riding Lamonte Wade and Taylor Trammel to a deep playoff run
edit: Maybe b/c he's only a platoon player?
I wonder who leaked this?texasaggie2015 said:Sources: The Astros and Twins had agreed to a trade that would send Bryan Abreu to the Twins for Trevor Larnach. In the 11th hour, Astros owner Jim Crane nixed the trade. It is currently unclear if those talks will be revisited.

Crane doing what Crane does.
I officially throw my BS flag on this.

- Astros would be silly not to do it
- Twins would be silly to do it
- Larnach is the Twins leadoff guy vs RHP
- Twins are buying
- Twins have brought in some pitching, why would they trade their leadoff dude for a rental reliever? https://t.co/nIIOXhB2wO

Yeah much easier to find a replacement RP. Feel like if you did this then got Weaver and Holmes from the Mets then you're pretty nicely setup.Farmer1906 said:
Pretty big mistake here by Crane. That's a starting OF for 1.5 years for 0.5 years of a formerly good reliever. I'm shocked the Twins would agree to that. It would has also saved a few bucks too.

Doubtful but it's definitely not a good look for Crane. What qualified GM is going to interview for this job if your owner is meddling with middle relief trades? I get if significant money is involved or star players but these are guys the average owner probably doesn't even know who they are.superaggie73 said:ruxin98 said:I wonder who leaked this?texasaggie2015 said:Sources: The Astros and Twins had agreed to a trade that would send Bryan Abreu to the Twins for Trevor Larnach. I'm hoping it's Dana to show the world what he has been dealing with after Crane lets him go this offseason.
The "reporter" who "reported" the Abreu/Larnach trade was rage tweeting about the Mets just a few months ago and does not appear to have any affiliation with any news org or MLB. A matching linkedin profile belongs to a JP Morgan entry analyst. Happy trade deadline season.

On the Trevor Larnach news, I had a tip yesterday that a trade for an outfielder to Houston was nixed. I didn’t know name or team.

To me that gives more truth to the reporting on the Twins.

It was known what kind of an owner he was after getting rid Click after back to back WS appearances and a championship.

Im hearing the Abreu news was BS, and that we are actually still working with Toronto on a potential Springer deal. Which is the complete opposite of what's being reported on social media so who knows
Also, Arrighetti was a name floated as potential trade bait

If Arrighetti is being floated, we better get more than Springer. I love the guy, but his 50 games left on his contract is not worth the control and potential of an Arrighetti.
I know it's deadline season and people are starved for any morsel they can get, but if you see something involving the Astros that isn't being reported by Tags, Chandler, Matt, or the handful of national guys who break news, go ahead and ignore it
